यह भारतीय युवाओं को, जो भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों का हिस्सा बनना चाहते हैं, इस नई प्रविष्टि और उपलब्ध अवसर के माध्यम से सेना में प्रवेश करने की अनुमति देगा। चाहे वह भारतीय सेना हो, भारतीय नौसेना हो या भारतीय वायु सेना। अग्निपथ सेना भारती योजना सभी भारतीय उम्मीदवारों के लिए केंद्र सरकार की योजना है। अग्निपथ के माध्यम से, कोई भी लड़ाकू बलों में सेवा कर सकता है और लगभग 45,000 से 50,000 सैनिकों को हर साल सिर्फ चार साल की सेवा अवधि के लिए भर्ती किया जाएगा।
