Assam Rifles Selection Process 2025
Assam Rifles has released a notification for the recruitment of 215 vacancies. To fill these positions, an open recruitment rally will be conducted for the posts of Rifleman (GD), Havildar, and other roles. The registration process started on 22 February 2025, and will continue until 22 March 2025.
In this article, we will explain the selection process in detail. Understanding these steps will help candidates prepare effectively and increase their chances of securing a place on the final merit list.

Assam Rifles Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the Written Examination, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Trade Test (Skill Test), and Medical Examination. To secure the final selection, applicants must successfully pass each stage of the process.
- Stage 1: Physical Fitness Test
- Stage 2: Written Test
- Stage 3: Trade Test
- Stage 4: Medical Exam
- Stage 5: Merit List
Assam Rifles Physical Standard Test(PST)
First, candidates need to clear the physical standard test to go further in the selection process. In Physical Standard Test, the height of all candidates and the chest of only male candidates will be checked. There is a certain restriction on height which is also given below in the table:

Assam Rifles Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
In the Physical Efficiency Test, the running capability of candidates will be checked. Candidates should clear all the Assam Rifles Physical Efficiency Test in order to proceed to the next rounds of selection process. There are different criteria for running for both male and females which is given below in the table:

Assam Rifles Exam Pattern 2025
In Stage 2 candidates have to face a written test, and after clearing it, they will move further in the selection process –
The written examination will be consisted of –
- 100 multiple-choice type questions will be asked from four sections i.e. English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness.
- All sections carry 25 questions each and each question carries one mark.
- The written examination will be conducted in offline mode.
- The minimum passing mark for General/EWS candidates is 35%.
- The minimum passing mark for SC/ST/OBC candidates is 33%.

After you clear these two phases you will further go for a trade test and medical examination. After this, a merit list will be published in which candidates will be able to see their names if they get the final selection.
