CAPF Medical Officer Selection Process 2024
The ITBP Medical Officers Selection Process is designed to ensure that only the most qualified candidates are recruited on 345 Medical officer positions. The Candidates selected after submission of the application form will receive an E- Admit Card for the further selection process. The Selection process includes key stages: Documentation, Interview, Physical Standard Test (PST), and Medical Examination Test (MET).

Stage I – Documentation
Candidates whose online applications are verified will receive an e-admit card. They must present this card along with various original documents and one set of self-attested copies during the documentation stage. Key documents include:
- Matriculation/School Leaving Certificate: To verify age/date of birth.
- Qualification Certificates: Supporting educational qualifications, including internship completion.
- Registration Certificate: From MCI/NMC/State Medical Council.
- Caste Certificates: If applicable (SC, ST, OBC, EWS), issued by an appropriate authority.
- NOC: Required for government servants.
- Discharge Certificate: For ex-servicemen.
- Proof of Citizenship: Domicile certificate, PAN card, Aadhar card, etc.
- NCC Certificates: Where applicable.
Candidates who fail to produce the required documents may be denied entry to the venue.
Stage II :- Interview
The designated Board will conduct interviews for candidates who successfully pass the documentation stage. This interview is crucial and carries a total of 200 marks, assessing:
- General knowledge and academic ability.
- Personality traits such as integrity, leadership potential, and social cohesion.
A minimum of 40% (80 marks) is required to qualify. Candidates not meeting this standard will be eliminated from the selection process.
Stage III:- Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates who qualify for the interview will undergo the Physical Standard Test. This includes checks for height, chest measurements, and other physical standards. Key points include:
- Immediate Evaluation: Conducted on the same day or the next day post-interview.
- Appeals: Candidates who do not meet physical standards can appeal on the same day, and the decision made will be final.
Stage IV:- Medical Examination Test (MET)
Candidates who pass the PST will then proceed to the Medical Examination Test, which is vital for assessing their fitness for the role. The process includes:
- Medical Evaluation: Conducted by a Board of Medical Officers, following guidelines from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Fit or Unfit Designation: Candidates will be categorized as either “FIT” or “UNFIT”.
- Review Medical Examination (RME): Candidates declared unfit can request an RME, provided they give written consent. This must be done within 24 hours of being notified.
CAPF Medical Officer Physical Standards
To join the Paramilitary forces, a candidates should be physically fit to be eligible to enter the CAPF Forces. The ITBP has released the fixed parameters for the CAPF Medical Officer physical standard for both male and female candidates.
