The Indian Army has finally opened the portal for candidates to select the SSB Interview dates for IMA 158 (DE). Candidates who cleared the CDS 1 2024 Written Examination can finally select the Interview date. The Course will Commence from Jan 2025 in the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. Aspirants are advised to choose the SSB Interview dates for the IMA 158 Course before the Last date of 26 June 2024. The window to select the Interview dates will be closed by 1600 on 26th June 2024.

A total of 100 Candidates will be selected to be trained as Officers in the Indian Military Academy. Out of which 13 vacancies are reserved for NCC C Certificates Army Wing Holders.

At the Indian Military Academy Army Cadets, known as Gentlemen Cadets, are given strenuous Military training for a period of 18 months aimed at turning out, officers capable of leading infantry subunits. On successful completion of training Gentlemen Cadets are granted Permanent Commission in the rank of Lt. subject to being medically fit, in S.H.A.P.E.

On the Officers Selection Panel, Click on the Officers entry Apply/Login.
Login with your credentials.
Click on the date selection link on screen
Choose the date for your SSB Interview accordingly.

What is SSB Interview?

SSB Interview is a Method adopted by the Armed Forces to Select the Potential Candidate who can be turned into a Leader in the Armed forces. SSB Interview is a 5 day Process in which the Officer like Quality of candidate is accessed.

Factor – I (Planning and Organising)
Factor – II (Social Adjustment)
Factor – III (Social Effectiveness)
Factor – IV (Dynamic)

In the 5 Day Process, The first day will be the Screening day, The OIR Test and PPDT Test is conducted on the First day. Candidates are accessed on the basis of both and It is decided whether they will be Screened In or Screened Out. The Screened Out candidates are sent home, and Other are kept on the SSB Center.

The Second Day is the Psychology Test, There are five tests that are conducted by the psychologist to test to assess the Potential of candidate in Decision Making, Reaction to Situations and other things. The SRT, WAT, TAT, SDT.

On the Third and Fourth Day, The Group Tasks are organised by the GTO officer. These are the group tasks that test the Social adaptability and Dynamic Nature of the Candidates. There are 9 GTO Tasks:-

Group Planning Exercises
Snake Race
Progressive Group Task
Half Group Task
Individual Obstacles
Lecturettes
Command Task
Final Group Task

Personal Interview of the Candidate are conducted by The IO( Interviewing Officer). These are started from 2nd day onwards only and goes on till the last day.

The last day is the Conference day, Candidates faces the Board of Conference where all the Interviewing Officer, Group Task Officer and Psychologist all come together with other Board Member. It is the day in which the fate of candidate is decided by the Board. Candidates who are selected after the 5 day intense Interview are Recommended by the Board and who are not selected are Conferenced Out.
