Indian military exercises or Defence exercises generally consist of two or more countries performing in order to test the performance of the particular armed forces. All three armed forces of India, the army, navy and airforce get to perform.
As per the demand of the nature and requirement of particular exercises, specific units/battalions of the Indian Armed Forces get to participate in such joint military exercises. The amount spent varies depending on the extent of our involvement and the resources used in such exercises.

Category of Indian Military Exercises
Indian armed forces participate in different categories of Military Exercises such as domestic exercises, bilateral exercises and multilateral exercises. The Military Exercises of India can be divided into three categories:
- Domestic Exercise – The motive of the domestic military exercise is to enhance internal engagements and intra-service and inter-service among all the forces.
- Bilateral Exercise – These military exercises are conducted between two different nations.
- Multilateral Exercise – These military exercises involve the armed forces of more than two countries.
