Difference Between Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission
When a student is selected for Indian Army Jobs, they have two options, whether to join the Indian Army as Permanent Commission or Short Service Commission.
Permanent Commission | Short Service Commission |
A Candidate joins the Indian Army till retirement. | A Candidate joins the Indian Army for 10 years with an option of a 4 years extension. |
At the end of service period, a candidate retires from the Indian Army. | At the end of period, candidate can opt for Permanent Commission or can opt out. |
A candidate has to join National Defence Academy Khadakwasla or the Indian Military Academy Dehradun. | A candidate can join any Institute of their interest. |
