Indian Army SSC Tech Salary Structure 2023
The salary structure for Indian Army SSC Tech officers is determined based on their rank and level. Upon joining the post, selected candidates will receive a salary in the pay scale of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500. The annual package for Indian Army SSC Tech officers ranges from approximately Rs. 6.7 lakhs to Rs. 30 lakhs. Indian Army SSC Tech Job Profile
The Indian Army SSC Tech (Short Service Commission Technical Entry) offers a platform for young technical graduates to join the Indian Army as officers and gain valuable skills and confidence before transitioning to civilian life. As per the job profile of Indian Army SSC Tech, selected candidates will be assigned various roles and responsibilities, as outlined below:
- Supply Chain Management: Monitoring and managing the supply chain for spare inventory through ordnance channels and local purchases.
- Field Engineers: Performing duties as Field Engineers in the Engineering Corps, Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (EME Corps), or Communication Engineers in the Signals Corps. This may involve being stationed in different parts of the country, usually behind the forward line of troops.

Indian Army SSC Tech Training 2023
Selected candidates will undergo training at Officers Training Academy, Chennai, for a duration of 49 weeks. Officers may be assigned to any Arm/Service and can be posted in various locations worldwide, as determined by the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Army). Upon successful completion of Pre-Commission training at OTA, Chennai, all candidates will be awarded a ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies’ by the University of Madras.
Serving Period
Officers (both male and female) will serve for a period of ten years. However, this tenure may be extendable by an additional four years.
Cost of Training
The entire cost of training at OTA is covered by the government. In the event that a cadet is withdrawn from the training academy for reasons other than medical grounds or beyond their control, they will be required to refund the training cost, which is currently Rs. 15,055 (as of 2022).
