Navy SSC Officer Salary 2024

The Indian Navy’s Short Service Commission (SSC) offers a competitive salary package designed to attract and retain talented individuals. SSC officers serving as Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers, General Service Cadre, Naval Air Operations officers, as well as in the Electrical, Electronics, Logistics, and Education branches, are appointed for a fixed tenure of ten years, with the possibility of extension. Indian Navy SSC Officer Salary and Allowances 2024

In addition to the basic pay and allowances, SSC officers enjoy several other benefits like medical facilities, accommodation, leave travel concession (LTC), and insurance coverage. They also receive pension and retirement benefits upon completing their tenure.

The dearness allowance (DA) is revised twice a year and currently stands at 38 percent of the basic pay. House rent allowance (HRA) varies depending on the city of posting, ranging from 24 percent to 30 percent of the basic pay. Travel allowance (TA) is provided to cover travel expenses and is determined by the officer’s rank and place of posting. All Short Service Officers will receive gratuity at the time of retirement, they are not entitles for the Pension.

  2. House Rent Allowance (HRA): The HRA varies based on the city of posting, ranging from 24 percent to 30 percent of the basic pay.
  3. Transport Allowance (TA): The TA is provided to cover the expenses of travel and is based on the rank and place of posting.
  4. Medical Facilities: The Indian Navy provides comprehensive medical facilities to its officers and their families. The officers can avail of medical treatment at Naval Hospitals or other authorized hospitals.
  5. Accommodation: The Indian Navy provides accommodation to its officers based on availability. The officers can also opt for the House Rent Allowance (HRA) and arrange for their own accommodation.
  6. Leave Travel Concession (LTC): The officers are entitled to travel to their hometown or any other place in India once in two years, or to any place in the country once in four years, on Leave Travel Concession.
  7. Insurance Coverage: The officers are covered under various insurance schemes, including the Naval Group Insurance Fund (NGIF) and the Navy Group Personnel Accident Insurance (NGPAI) scheme.
