What Is AFCAT and Who Can Apply For It?
AFCAT is a competitive exam conducted by the Indian Air Force for recruitment of officers in Short Service Commission into various branches of IAF. AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. It is conducted twice a year. Anyone with passion for the Air Force and who wish to live a lively, dedicated and adventurous life, fulfilling the eligibility criteria can apply for AFCAT. Candidates has to go through 3 stages, Written- AFSB Interview – Medical test.
AFCAT Minimum and Maximum Age Limit
The age limit for AFCAT depends on what branch you are going to apply for. The overall age limit for AFCAT is 20 to 26 years old. The candidates born between 2 July 2001 to 1 July 2005 can apply for Flying Branch and candidate born between 2 July 1999 to 1 July 2005 can apply for Ground duty Technical and Non Technical Branches in AFCAT 2 2024.

Essential Educational Qualification
It is compulsory to meet the educational qualifications standards set by the Indian Air Force at 12th level and graduation level by the candidates.

Physical Standards For Men and Women
For Flying Branch – 162.5 cm (for both men and female)
For Ground duty (Tech and Non-Tech): Male -157.5 cm and Female -152cm
Candidates are advised to keep themselves in good physical condition by following the under-mentioned routine:
- Running: up to 4 Km. in 15 minutes.
- Skipping.
- Push ups & Sit-ups: Minimum 20 each.
- Chin ups: 08.
- Rope Climbing: 3m to 4m
- Swimming (25 m).
