NDA Exam Pattern 2025 for GAT and Maths

The NDA Examination is one of the most important examinations for candidates who wish to join the Indian Armed Forces through the National Defence Examination. The NDA Exam gives opportunity to Male and female candidates who have qualified 10+2 Standard. In this article, we are providing all the information regarding the NDA exam pattern for the upcoming NDA 2025 examinations.

NDA Exam Pattern

According to the latest NDA Exam Pattern 2025, The 1st stage is of written examination followed by the second stage of SSB Interview. There are two papers in NDA exam,  Paper 1 and Paper 2 for the mathematics and General Ability Test respectively. The NDA Exam is conducted in an offline manner in an OMR Sheet based mode. Candidates who qualify the NDA Written examination are called for the SSB Interview.

NDA Exam Pattern 2025

As per the NDA Exam Pattern 2025, The NDA written examination consists of two subjects: Mathematics (Subject Code 01) and General Ability Test (Subject Code 02). The duration for each subject is 2½ hours, with 300 marks allotted to Mathematics and 600 marks allotted to the General Ability Test. The total maximum marks for the NDA written examination are 900. In addition to the written test, candidates will also undergo the SSB Test/Interview, which is awarded 900 marks.

NDA Maths Exam Pattern 2025

The NDA Maths Section is important to score good in the NDA exam. Whether you are from Non Medical ( PCM ) Stream or not, you have to appear for the NDA Maths Section. The NDA Exam Pattern 2025 includes the Mathematics paper, which is assigned Subject Code 01. The duration of the Mathematics exam is 2½ hours, and it carries a total of 300 marks.

NDA GAT Exam Pattern 2025

According to the NDA GAT Exam Pattern, The NDA GAT question paper comprises of Two parts, Part A and Part B. The NDA GAT Part A comprises of 50 Questions from the English Section and NDA GAT Part B comprises of  100 questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Polity, Geography, and Economy. This section carries a total of 600 marks and includes 150 questions. Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks, while each wrong answer results in a deduction of 1.33 marks.

NDA SSB Interview Pattern 2025

Candidates who qualify the NDA Written Examination are shortlisted for the NDA SSB Interview. The SSB Interview is a 5 day interview conducted by the Service selection boards for the selection of right candidate in the Indian Armed forces out of many candidates. In the SSB Interview, A candidates is accessed on the basis of various personality traits he/she showcases during the different activities conducted in the duration of those 5 days.

Other Important Points of NDA Exam Pattern

  1. Objective Type Questions: All papers in the examination will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers (Test Booklets) for both Mathematics and Part “B” of the General Ability Test will be set bilingually, in Hindi as well as English.
  2. Metric System: Where necessary, questions in the examination will involve the metric system of weights and measures only.
  3. Writing the Examination: Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. No candidate will be allowed the help of a scribe to write the answers for them, under any circumstances.
  4. Qualifying Marks: The Commission reserves the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all of the subjects of the examination.
  5. Use of Calculators and Tables: Candidates are not permitted to use calculators or any mathematical or logarithmic tables while answering the objective type papers (Test Booklets). Candidates should, therefore, not bring calculators or such tables inside the examination hall.
