According to a Press Release, 10628 officer level posts are lying vacant and more than 1,34,000 vacancies for soldiers in Indian Armed Forces.

Number of Vacancies in Indian Armed Forces

According to the Press release, Ministry of Defence release the number of posts lying vacant in the Indian Armed Forces in the current year. It is said that 10628 officer level posts are lying vacant and more than 1,34,000 vacancies for soldiers including junior commissioned officers are also lying vacant, Minister of Defence said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.

Vacancies in Armed Forces 2022

The number of posts lying vacant in the Armed forces are as follows:

Government has also shared the number of vacancies filled in the last five years. Government has initiated the process of regular recruitment for filling vacancies in the army. It said, ” Process of recruitment of Jawans in Army as Agniveers has commenced with effect from year 2022. 40,000 vacancies have been released for Army for year 2022 under the Agnipath scheme”.
