Scientific Names of Animals and Birds 2022
Binomial Nomenclature aka binary nomenclature is a method of giving names in taxonomy for various species. It consists of two terms which define whether a species is an animal or bird or plant or any other organism. These terms are basically Latin. First part of the term represents the generic name which tells about the genus of species and the second term represents the specific name that distinguishes species in the genus. For example, humans belong to the genus homo and sapiens is the species name. So, modern humans are called Homo sapiens scientifically. This method is founded by Carl Linnaeus in 1753 and introduced this method with his work Species Plantarum.
