BEL 2025 Probationary Engineer Selection Process
The selection process for the BEL Probationary Engineer 2025 consists of two key stages: the Computer-Based Test (CBT) and the Interview. To be eligible for the position, candidates must successfully clear both stages. Candidates who meet the qualifying criteria and have their online applications accepted will be provisionally shortlisted for the CBT.
Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
The CBT is a crucial part of the selection process and will be held for a duration of 120 minutes. The test consists of 125 questions, which are divided into two sections: 100 Technical Questions and 25 General Aptitude and Reasoning Questions. Each question carries 1 mark, and there will be negative marking for incorrect answers; 1/4th of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi. It is essential to perform well in this stage as it plays a significant role in the final selection.
Stage 2: Interview
After the CBT, candidates will be shortlisted for an interview based on their performance in the test. The interview stage carries a weightage of 15 marks, so thorough preparation is critical. Candidates should aim to secure maximum marks in this stage to enhance their overall score.
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
Candidates from General/OBC (NCL)/EWS & ESM categories need to score at least 35% in the CBT to be considered for the interview. Candidates from SC/ST/PwBD categories need to score a minimum of 30%. Based on the CBT scores, candidates will be shortlisted for the interview in a 1:5 ratio, with the highest scorers being selected first. The weightage for the Computer-Based Test is 85 marks, and the interview contributes 15 marks to the overall score.
