Civil engineers are high in demand even in the government sector. The rapid growth of industrialization and urbanization creates the demand for Civil engineers in the country. The government recruits Civil engineers through various competitive examinations. Some important exams through which Civil engineers are recruited in the government sector are mentioned below-
- GATE – Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an Indian exam conducted by IIT or IISC for engineering graduates. Based on the GATE score, many PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) hire Civil engineers followed by a process of Interviews and Group Discussion.
- SSC JE – Staff Selection Commission conducts an exam to recruit Junior Engineers(JE ). Civil engineers are eligible for this exam.
