GATE Registration Application Procedure

The GATE Registration Application will start after the release of GATE Notification 2025. Candidates can start applying as soon as the GATE Registration releases the notification on their official website. The step-wise guide to applying for the GATE Registration 2025 has been given below-

• Applicants need to register using their valid and active email ID and phone number to obtain a registration number and password for the portal.
• Using their registration ID and password, applicants can log in to fill out the GATE 2025 application form by providing personal, educational, and other relevant details.
• While filling out the application form, applicants will be required to upload a scanned photo and signature.
• To complete the registration, it is mandatory to pay the GATE 2025 application fee using any online mode.

Documents Required For GATE Registration 2025

The GATE 2025 application requires candidates to upload their documents online, following specific specifications. Please ensure that your documents meet the following criteria:

• A high-quality image of the candidate’s photograph conforming to the requirements specified in the Information Brochure.
• A high-quality image of the candidate’s signature conforming to the requirements specified in the Information Brochure.
• Scanned copy of Category (SC/ST) certificate in pdf format (if applicable).
• Scanned copy of PwD Certificate in pdf format (if applicable).
• Scanned copy of Certificate of Dyslexia in pdf format (if applicable).
• Scanned copy of valid photo Identity document: Aadhar-UID (preferable)/ Passport/ PAN Card/ Voter ID/ Driving License.
• The photo ID must have the Name and date of birth of the candidate and a unique photo ID number. This photo ID must be carried in original to the examination hall for verification.

Photographs Requirements

The GATE 2025 application requires candidates to upload their photographs online, following specific specifications. Please ensure that your passport-size photograph meets the following criteria:

• The photograph should be a high-quality, color image with dimensions of 3.5 cm width × 4.5 cm height.
• The candidate’s face should cover 60-70% of the photograph.
• The background of the photograph must be plain white without any other objects or persons.
• The photograph should be in JPEG/JPG format with an aspect ratio of at least 0.66 and at most 0.89.
• After cropping, the face must still cover 60-70% of the image.
• The photograph should have a minimum resolution of 200 x 260 pixels and a maximum resolution of 530 x 690 pixels.
• The file size should be between 5 kB and 1 MB.
• The candidate’s face must be visible without any obstructions or shadows.

Please note that failure to adhere to these specifications may lead to the rejection of your GATE application, and the application fee will not be refunded.

Signature Requirements

The GATE 2025 application requires candidates to upload their signature files online, following specific specifications. Please ensure that your signature meets the following criteria:

• Please upload an image of your signature in JPEG/JPG format with a 1:R aspect ratio, where R can range between 2.75 and 3.75. After cropping to this specified size, the signature should cover 70-80% of the image area.
• Your signature must be in black or dark blue ink only.
• The file size should be between 3 kB and 1 MB.
• The maximum pixel resolution is 580 × 180 pixels and the minimum resolution is 250 × 80 pixels.
• The signature must be signed only by you, the applicant, and not by anyone else. If your signature at the time of examination does not match the uploaded signature, you may be disqualified.
