GATE Registration 2025 Step-By-Step Process

Aspirants need to complete the GATE 2025 registration through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). This requires entering key details like name, email ID, and mobile number to generate an enrollment ID. Applicants also need to create a password for future logins.

Here are the steps for GATE 2025 registration:

  1. Visit IIT Roorkee’s official website (www.iitr.ac.in) using a stable internet connection.
  2. Click on the GATE 2025 Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) link on the homepage.
  3. Choose “Login” and then click “Register” to start the registration.
  4. Provide necessary details such as name, email, mobile number, and password.
  5. Click “Submit” to receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
  6. Enter the OTP correctly to create your GATE 2025 login credentials.
  7. After successful registration, you’ll receive a unique enrollment ID. Keep this ID safe for future use.

Documents Required For GATE Registration 2025

The GATE 2025 application requires candidates to upload their documents online, following specific guidelines. Please make sure your documents meet the following criteria:

  1. A high-quality image of the candidate’s photograph conforming to the requirements specified in the Information Brochure.
  2. A high-quality image of the candidate’s signature conforming to the requirements specified in the Information Brochure.
  3. Scanned copy of Category (SC/ST) certificate in pdf format (if applicable).
  4. Scanned copy of PwD Certificate in pdf format (if applicable).
  5. Scanned copy of Certificate of Dyslexia in pdf format (if applicable).
  6. Scanned copy of valid photo Identity document: Aadhar-UID (preferable)/ Passport/ PAN Card/ Voter ID/ Driving License.
  7. The photo ID must have the Name and date of birth of the candidate and a unique photo ID number. This photo ID must be carried in original to the examination hall for verification.

Photographs Requirements

The GATE 2025 application requires candidates to upload their photographs online, following specific specifications. Please ensure that your passport-size photograph meets the following criteria:

  1. The photograph should be a high-quality, color image with dimensions of 3.5 cm width × 4.5 cm height.
  2. The candidate’s face should cover 60-70% of the photograph.
  3. The background of the photograph must be plain white without any other objects or persons.
  4. The photograph should be in JPEG/JPG format with an aspect ratio of at least 0.66 and at most 0.89.
  5. After cropping, the face must still cover 60-70% of the image.
  6. The photograph should have a minimum resolution of 200 x 260 pixels and a maximum resolution of 530 x 690 pixels.
  7. The file size should be between 5 kB and 1 MB.
  8. The candidate’s face must be visible without any obstructions or shadows.

Please note that failure to adhere to these specifications may lead to the rejection of your GATE application, and the application fee will not be refunded.

Signature Requirements

The GATE 2025 application requires candidates to upload their signature files online, following specific specifications. Please ensure that your signature meets the following criteria:

  1. Please upload an image of your signature in JPEG/JPG format with a 1:R aspect ratio, where R can range between 2.75 and 3.75. After cropping to this specified size, the signature should cover 70-80% of the image area.
  2. Your signature must be in black or dark blue ink only.
  3. The file size should be between 3 kB and 1 MB.
  4. The maximum pixel resolution is 580 × 180 pixels and the minimum resolution is 250 × 80 pixels.
  5. The signature must be signed only by you, the applicant, and not by anyone else. If your signature at the time of examination does not match the uploaded signature, you may be disqualified.

Application Fees For GATE Registration

To complete the GATE 2025 registration, candidates need to pay the application fee. The fee amount is different for Indian and international applicants, and payment can only be made using net banking, credit card, or debit card. E-challans are no longer accepted for payment. It’s important to note that the application fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred. Additionally, there may be extra transaction fees based on the bank’s rules. GATE Registration 2025 – Accepting the Declaration

Before submitting the GATE 2025 registration form on the GOAPS portal, applicants must read and agree to a declaration. The main points of this declaration are:

  1. Confirming that the applicant has personally filled out the form.
  2. Understanding all the points in the form and giving accurate information.
  3. Agreeing to follow the GATE 2025 rules and guidelines.
  4. Accepting that if any information is later found to be false, their GATE 2025 application will be canceled.
  5. Understanding that providing false information could lead to legal consequences.

This step is required, and the registration form will only be submitted after the applicant agrees to the declaration.

GATE Registration 2025 – Retrieving Forgotten Enrollment ID or Password

After registering on the website, applicants receive a unique enrollment ID and password, called the GATE Login 2025 details. If they lose or forget these details, they can get them back by following these steps:

1. Go to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) webpage.
2. Click on ‘Forgot GATE 2024 Enrollment or Registration ID.’
3. If applicants remember their registered email but not their enrollment or registration ID, click ‘Request for an OTP’ to get a one-time password.
4. If applicants already have an OTP, click ‘Already have an OTP?’ to reset the password.
