This year, three women have topped the Chartered Accountancy Intermediate examination. After Parami, Tanya Gupta from Chennai scored the second-highest with 459 marks (76.50%), and Vidhi Jain from New Delhi took the third spot with 441 marks (73.50%).
Dheeraj Khandelwal from ICAI celebrated this achievement, noting that it is a historic moment to see all three top ranks held by women. He mentioned that about 30% of ICAI members are women, and this number is expected to increase to 50% in the next five years. In 2008, there were only around 8,000 female members. By 2018, this number had grown to 80,000, and now it has exceeded 125,000.
Out of 69,227 candidates who took Group I, only 10,505 passed, which means the pass percentage was 15.17%. In Group II, 50,760 candidates appeared, and 8,117 passed, giving a pass rate of 15.99%. For Group III, which included candidates from both groups, 23,482 took the exam, but only 1,330 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 5.66%.
