Telangana Public Service Commission

The Hyderabad Public Service Commission, established in 1947, was merged with the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission in 1956 after the bifurcation of the state. Section 83(2) of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act 2014 (Central Act.6/2014) led to the establishment of a Public Service Commission in the State of Telangana.
The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) was established in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act of 2014. Since then, it has been referred to as TSPSC.

TSPSC Name Changed to TGPSC

The Telangana government modified the official abbreviation of Telangana from TS to TG. Consequently, the abbreviations of various government organizations’ offices are being transitioned from TS to TG. For instance, the State Road Transport Corporation is now known as TGSRTC and Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) also changed its abbreviation to TGPSC. TGPSC Official Notice

The Telangana government has released an official notice regarding the change in TSPSC to TGPSC. The newly formed government said that the central government had finalized the abbreviation TG for Telangana at formation of the state and said that all the official names have been changed to TG. In this move the name of TSPSC was changed to TGPSC.
