The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is going to conduct the TNPSC Group 1 Exam 2024 for Group 1 and Group 1-B and 1-C services for various posts. The TNPSC Combined Civil Services Examination (Group 1B and IC Services) (Advt. No. 05/2024) will be conducted on 12th July 2024 and the TNPSC Combined Civil Services Examination-I (Group I Services) (Advt. No. 04/2024) will be held on 13th July 2024. The hall ticket for the same will be released a few days before the exam. For more information, check the details shared below.
TNPSC Group 1 Exam Date 2024
The TNPSC Group 1 Exam 2024 is conducted to recruit eligible candidates for the Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category-1), Assistant Commissioner(Commercial Taxes), and Group 1-B and Group 1-C services for which the total number of vacancies announced is 90 and 29 respectively by the official. The application process for Group 1B and 1C services is still open, so, if you want to apply for TNPSC Group 1 (Advt. No. 05/2024), then you can do so @tnpsc.gov.in.
For posts of Assistant Commissioner and District Educational Officer under Group 1B and 1C, the exam will be held on 12th July 2024.
TNPSC Group 1 Exam Schedule 2024
The Commission has mentioned the exam date for various Group I examinations. The Prelims for Group I and Group I-B & I-C exams shall be conducted on the 13th and 12th of July 2024 respectively. TNPSC Group 1 Selection Procedure
The selection of the candidates for the TNPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2024 will be done through the Prelims, Mains, and Interview stages. Check stage-wise details below:
- Preliminary Test:Â This is the first stage and it is qualifying in nature and its marks will not be added. The questions are MCQ-based and total marks is 300. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours.
- Mains Exam:Â To assess the candidate’s in-depth knowledge and ability to present information coherently, the Mains exam is conducted and it consists of 3 papers of 250 marks each.
- Interview: Total Marks is 100 and it is conducted to evaluate the candidate’s personality, communication skills, and suitability for the administrative positions.
TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam Pattern 2024
The examination format for both Prelims and Mains is outlined as follows. The examination will be conducted in both English and Tamil languages.
- The exam is objective-based.
- The time duration to complete the exam is 3 hours.
- The total number of marks in the exam will be 300.
- For every correct answer 1.5 marks.
- There will be no negative marks.

TNPSC Group 1 Hall Ticket 2024
The admit card for the TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam will be released a few days before the exam on its official website @tnpsc.gov.in. After the hall ticket is released, candidates will need to download and take a printout of it by logging into the portal.
