TNUSRB SI Syllabus 2025

Every year TNUSRB releases a notification for the eligible candidates to recruit for vacant Sub Inspector posts in the Tamil Nadu State. This year, TNSURB will also release the TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2025 Notification and will conduct exams for this post. Candidates who will appear for the exam must check the TNUSRB SI Syllabus and Exam Pattern in detail. TNUSRB SI Syllabus And Exam Pattern 2024 for SI Taluk, AR, TSP

The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) has released the official TNUSRB SI Syllabus and Exam pattern on the official website at tnusrb.tn.gov.in. The Written Examination for the Selection of Sub-Inspectors of Police (Taluk, AR & TSP) will have two parts. First is the Tamil Language Eligibility Test and the Second is the Main written exam. These parts are the following.

Part I: Tamil Language Eligibility Test (Common for Open Quota and Departmental Quota Candidates)

  • The Tamil Language Eligibility Test is qualifying in nature. It will consist of objective-type questions of 1 mark each.
  • With respect to 20% of Departmental candidates, the Tamil Language Eligibility Test will be commonly conducted along with those who are applying for the open quota.
  • The candidates who have applied under BOTH Open and Departmental categories will have to write the commonly conducted Tamil Language Eligibility Test only once.

TNSURB SI Syllabus for Tamil Eligibility Test

Objective-type questions will be asked to test the basic knowledge of the Tamil language as taught up to 10th standard of the Tamil Nadu State Board. The syllabus is divided into three parts:

பகுதி – அ
இலக்கணம்
1. எழுத்து இலக்கணம்: தமிழ் எழுத்துகளின் வககயும் ததொககயும், எழுத்துகளின்
பிறப்பு, முததலழுத்துகள் & வகக, சொர்தபழுத்துகள் & வகக, புணர்ச்சி, தமொழி முதல்,
இறுதி எழுத்துகள், இன எழுத்துகள், சுட்டு எழுத்துகள், வினொ எழுத்துகள்,
மயங்தகொலிகள்.
2. தசொல் இலக்கணம்: தபயர்ச்தசொல் & வகககள், விகனச்தசொல் & வகககள்,
இகைச்தசொல், உொிச்தசொல், இலக்கியவககச் தசொற்கள், வவற்றுகம, ஆகுதபயர்,
இரட்கைக்கிளவி, அடுக்குத்ததொைர், ஓதரழுத்து ஒருதமொழி, பகுபதம், பகொப்பதம்,
மூவகக தமொழிகள், வழக்கு.
3. தபொது இலக்கணம்: வழு, வழொ நிகல, வழுவகமதி, ததொககநிகலத் ததொைர்,
ததொகொநிகலத் ததொைர், வினொ, விகை வகககள், தபொருள்வகொள் & வகககள்.
4. தபொருள் இலக்கணம்: அகப்தபொருள், புறப்தபொருள்.
5. யொப்பு இலக்கணம்: யொப்பின் உறுப்புகள், அலகிடுதல், பொ வகக (தவண்பொ,
ஆசிொியப்பொ தபொது இலக்கணம்).
6. அணி இலக்கணம்: உவகம அணி, உருவக அணி, வஞ்சப்புகழ்ச்சி அணி, வவற்றுகம
அணி, பின்வரு நிகலயணி & வகககள், பிறிது தமொழிதல் அணி, இரட்டுறதமொழிதல்
அணி, தற்குறிப்வபற்ற அணி, தீவக அணி, நிரல்நிகற அணி.
7. தமொழித்திறன்: வல்லினம் மிகும் இைம், மிகொ இைம், ததொைர் இலக்கணம்.
8. பிொித்து எழுதுதல், வசர்த்து எழுதுதல், எதிர்ச்தசொல்கல எழுதுதல், தபொருந்தொச்
தசொல்கல கண்ைறிதல், பிகழ திருத்தம், ஆங்கில தசொல்லுக்கு வநரொன தமிழ்ச்
தசொல்கல அறிதல்.

பகுதி – ஆ
இலக்கியம்
1. திருக்குறள், ததொல்கொப்பியம், கம்பரொமொயணம், எட்டுத்ததொகக, பத்துப்பொட்டு,
ஐம்தபருங்கொப்பியங்கள், ஐஞ்சிறுகொப்பியங்கள், அறநூல்கள், பக்தி இலக்கியங்கள்,
சிற்றிலக்கியங்கள், நொட்டுப்புற இலக்கியங்கள், புதுக்கவிகத, தமொழிதபயர்ப்பு
நூல்கள் ஆகியகவ ததொைர்பொன தசய்திகள், வமற்வகொள்கள், சிறப்புப்தபயர்கள்,
ததொைகர நிரப்புதல்.

பகுதி – இ
தமிழ் அறிஞர்களும் தமிழ்த்ததொண்டும்
1. தமிழ் அறிஞர்கள், தமிழின் ததொன்கம, தமிழொின் பண்பொடு, தமிழ் உகரநகை,
தமிழ்த்ததொண்டு, சமுதொயத்ததொண்டு ததொைர்பொன தசய்திகள் மற்றும் வமற்வகொள்கள்.

Part II: Main Written Examination [For Open Quota Candidates]

The Main Written Examination for Open Quota Candidates will be for 70 marks consisting of 140 objective-type questions of ½ mark each. The duration of the examination will be 2 ½ Hours. The candidates should get a minimum of 25 marks to qualify for the written examination. It will consist of :
Part – A – General Knowledge (40 Marks – 80 Questions)
Part – B – Psychology Test (30 marks – 60 Questions)

Geography Regions of India, Monsoon, and climate, Crops, Indian Towns and Places, Major Ports, Minerals, Industries, Power Plants, Forests and Wildlife, National Parks, Population distribution in India, and other related topics.

Psychology Test [For Open and Departmental Candidates]

Subject Topics
Logical Analysis Analysis of any information logically to find out various dimensions of the information.
Numerical Analysis  Quick responses with regard to numerical ability will be tested
Communication Skills Effective usage of Tamil & English languages will be tested.
Information Handling Ability  For any given information, the various aspects of the information, the inferences, and connected facts will be tested.
Mental Ability These tests verify the candidate’s capability to conclude, inductive or deductive reasoning.

Part II: Main Written Examination (For Departmental Quota Candidates)

The Main Written Examination for Departmental Quota Candidates will be for 85 marks consisting of 170 objective-type questions of ½ mark each. The duration of the examination will be 3 Hours. The candidates should get a minimum of 30 marks to qualify for the written examination. It will consist of:

Part – A – (15 Marks – 30 Questions)

  • General Knowledge: The Syllabus will be the same as Open Quota Candidates.

Part – B – (70 Marks – 140 Questions)

  • Psychology Test: The syllabus for the Psychological Test will be the same as Open Quota Candidates. In addition to the above, the Departmental Quota candidates will have questions on the following police subjects in Part B. Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Evidence Act, Police Standing Order and Police Administration.

  • The written exam consists of two parts I & II.
  • Candidates are required to score 40% marks in Part I (Tamil Eligibility Test) to be eligible for Part II (Mains) Exam OMR sheet evaluation.
  • Tamil Eligibility Test will be commonly conducted for both Open Quota Examination and Departmental Quota Examination.
  • The minimum qualifying marks in the Main Written Examination is 25 for open candidates and 30 for departmental candidates.
