IBPS RRB Selection Process 2025
The IBPS RRB Selection Process 2025 involves two stages: Prelims and Mains. On the other hand, the IBPS PO or Officer Scale I examination involves three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interviews. As for the IBPS Officer Grade II (General Banking Officer and Specialist Cadre) and III, there is a single-window exam known as the IBPS Officer Grade II Exam, followed by an Interview. To secure a position in any of these posts, candidates must successfully clear each stage of the respective examinations.
IBPS RRB 2025 Exam Pattern
As you know the IBPS RRB recruits candidates for two posts, i.e. Office Assistant/Clerk and Officer Scale. Therefore, the exam process is different for each of the exams.
IBPS RRB Office Assistant Exam Pattern
The IBPS RRB Assistant 2025, Exam will be conducted in two phases:
- Preliminary Exam
- Mains Exam
No interview process will be conducted for selecting candidates for the post of Office Assistant. Selection will be made purely on the marks obtained by the candidate in his/her Mains Examination.
There will be a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect response marked by the candidate. The test will be objective in nature.

The authorities have introduced the sectional timing for each section in both the Preliminary and Main exams for Clerk (Office Assistant) and Probationary Officer (Officer Scale I) positions represents a notable shift.
