RBI Assistant Selection Process 2024
The RBI Assistant Selection Process 2024 has three phases that the candidates need to clear to qualify for the recruitment process. The detailed selection process has been mentioned below.
Phase I: Preliminary Examination
This initial phase includes an online examination for a total of 100 marks which test the candidates on the basis of their knowledge in English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. It has a total of 100 questions and a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
Phase II: Main Examination
The RBI Assistant Mains exam consists of 200 questions, with each correct answer awarding 1 mark. Be cautious, as there is a penalty of 1/4th of a mark for each incorrect answer. The exam is conducted online, and candidates will have 135 minutes to complete it. Additionally, it’s important to note that there is a minimum score requirement for each section of the main exam, so meeting these sectional cut-offs is crucial for overall success.
Phase III: Language Proficiency Test
The final phase assesses candidates’ proficiency in local language of the state they have selected. It is designed solely to verify their proficiency in the required language and is not scored like the other exams.

RBI Assistant Nationality
The nationality criteria of the RBI Assistant 2024 have been mentioned below for the candidates.
- An Indian citizen, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, to permanently settle in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or from East African countries including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam, intending to permanently settle in India.
Candidates from categories 2, 3, 4, and 5 must possess an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India. While candidates requiring this certificate can sit for the examination, they will only receive an appointment offer once the Government of India issues the required eligibility certificate.

RBI Assistant 2024 Syllabus

The RBI Assistant Salary 2024 during the initial period will be Rs 20,700 per month. The pay scale of the salary will be Rs. 20700 – 1200 (3) – 24300 – 1440 (4) – 30060 – 1920 (6) – 41580 – 2080 (2) – 45740 – 2370 (3) – 52850 – 2850 – 55700 (20 years) and other allowances. Along with the salary, the candidates will be able to enjoy several allowances including DA, HRA, City Compensatory Allowances, etc.
RBI Assistant Cut Off 2024
The Reserve Banking of India will release the RBI Assistant Cut Off 2024 for prelims and mains separately on the official website. The candidates who successfully attain the cut off for the prelims examination will only be eligible to appear in the mains examination.
