RBI Grade B 2024 Age Limit

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DEPR Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Economics (or any other master’s degree where “Economics” is the principal constituent of the curriculum/syllabus, such as MA/MSc in Quantitative Economics, Mathematical Economics, Financial Economics, Business Economics, Agricultural Economics, and Industrial Economics)

OR

A Master’s Degree in Finance (or any other master’s degree where “Finance” is the principal constituent of the curriculum/syllabus, including MA/MSc in Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Techniques, International Finance, Business Finance, Banking and Trade Finance, International and Trade Finance, Project and Infrastructure Finance, Agri Business Finance).

A minimum of 55 percent marks or an equivalent grade is required in aggregate.

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR)–DSIM Candidates must hold one of the following qualifications with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate across all semesters/years:

a. Master’s Degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Mathematical Economics/Econometrics/Statistics & Informatics/Applied Statistics & Informatics.

b. Master’s Degree in Mathematics along with a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputable institute.

c. Master’s Degree in Data Science/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Big Data Analytics from a recognized University/Institute.

d. Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Data Science/AI/ML/Big Data Analytics from a recognized University/Institute.

e. Two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) from a recognized University/Institute.

RBI Grade B 2024 Nationality

As per the RBI Grade B 2024 Eligibility, the candidates must fulfil the nationality criteria. The candidates must be either:

(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently
settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of
Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

RBI Grade B 2024 Selection Process

Right within one month of completion of the online application process, RBI will begin with the selection process stages and those who applied will have to appear for these stages. The RBI Grade B Selection Process consists of three stages –

  1. Phase I: It comprises objective-type questions on the English language, quantitative aptitude, reasoning, and general awareness. The total number of Marks is 200 and the mode of examination is online. The questions will be set in both Hindi and English and the questions shall be MCQ-based. Candidates must note that this is qualifying in nature and it will not be added to the final merit list.
  2. Phase II: Those who qualify the stage 1, will appear for the Phase II Exam. It is divided into three papers covering economic and social issues, English writing skills, and finance and management. The syllabus and exam pattern of Phase 2 varies for General, DEPR, and DSIM posts.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III of the Phase II exam. The interview process will carry 75 marks.
