- Phase-I or Prelims: This is an online objective-type exam with four sections: General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. Each section carries equal weight, and the total duration is 2 hours.
- Phase II or Mains: It is also an online exam, divided into three papers: Economic and Social Issues, English (Writing Skills), and Finance and Management/Economics/Statistics. The duration for each paper varies, and there is a 50% descriptive section in the both ESI and FM Papers
- Interview: Candidates who qualify in Phase 2 are shortlisted for the interview, which holds a weightage of 75 marks. The final selection is based on the aggregate scores of Phase 2 and the interview.

RBI Garde B Phase 2 2025
- There are three separate papers in the main exam.
- For RBI Grade B Officers in Gr B (DR)- General, candidates have to appear for papers I, II, and III.
- For RBI Grade B Officers in Gr B (DR)- DEPR & DSIM, candidates have to appear for papers II and III.
- Paper I & III are 50% Objective & 50 % descriptive while Paper- II is Descriptive only.
- Each paper will be worth 100 marks.
- The English paper is a descriptive test.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III of the Phase II exam.

The RBI Grade Selection Process is conducted in 3 stages: Phase 1, Phase 2, and Interview. The recruitment cycle from the release of notification to the final result takes 6-7 months. Within a month and a half time of the release of the official notification, Phase 1 is conducted after 25-30 days, the Phase 2 Examination is conducted.
