What is the Eligibility Criteria for RRB Assistant Loco Pilot Post?

To be eligible for appointment as Assistant Loco Pilot post in Indian Railways across zones, candidates should satisfy the following criteria:

• Nationality: Must be a citizen of India
• Age Limit: 18-30 years (age relaxation provided to reserved category candidates such as 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. Complete details about age relaxation is given in the Notification PDF).
• Qualification: Passed Matriculation with ITI Diploma in relevant field

RRB ALP Online Form and Application Fee

Candidates can apply for 9970 ALP vacancies only through online mode, and no offline mode is available. Candidates can submit their applications forms from 12th April 2025 onwards on the Zonal RRB website and the last date to apply is 11th May 2025. Also, to complete the online application process, candidates have to pay an application fee which is given below:

• SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC): Rs. 250
• Other Candidates (except above categories): Rs. 500

How to Apply Online?

Applying online for RRB ALP Recruitment 2025 is mentioned in the official PDF. First, the candidates need to open the official website of the RRB that they wish to apply from and follow the rest of the steps below:

Negative Marking in CBT Exam

In both stage 1 and 2 Computer Based Test For RRB ALP, there is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for wrong answers marked by the candidates. No negative marking for unanswered questions.

Assistant Loco Pilot Salary

The basic salary of an Asst. Loco Pilot is Rs. 19,900/- per month as per Pay Level 2 in 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). After adding allowances such as DA, HRA, NPS, etc. the monthly salary becomes around Rs. 35,000/- per month.
