The candidates who are preparing for the SSC CHSL 2025 examination must know all the details of the SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2025 along with the syllabus. The exam pattern play an important role for the preparation as it includes the sections, number of questions, section wise marks, and the duration of the examination. The selection process includes Tier 1 and Tier 2 examination where, the candidates will have to appear in a Computer-Based Test. SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2025
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examinations in two Tiers namely Tier-1 and Tier-2. The SSC CHSL Exam Pattern for Tier 1 and Tier 2 differs slightly which the candidates need to get familiar with and also know the mode of the examination.

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2025
According to the SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2025, the SSC CHSL Ties 1 comprises 100 questions in total with a maximum mark of 200. SSC CHSL Tier I is divided into four sections with 25 questions each and the candidates get 60 minutes to solve the paper. Normalization will be done by SSC if the exam is conducted in multiple shifts.
The sections asked in the SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam are:
- General Knowledge
- Quantitative Aptitude
- General Reasoning
- English Comprehension

Note:- For every wrong question there is a negative marking of 0.5 marks.
SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2025 (Revised)
Here, we have provided the revised SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern as per the notification. Those who qualify for the Tier 1 exam will have to appear for the Tier 2 examination. The SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern consists of 2 sessions which further consist of sections as mentioned below. The questions in Session I shall be MCQ type.
In Session II, there is a typing test/Skill test to assess the typing speed and skill of the candidates.

Section-2: Module-I: English Language and Comprehension and Module-II: General Awareness

- The questions will be of Objective type in nature in English, Hindi, and any language opted by the candidates.
SSC CHSL Negative Marking
In Tier 1, 0.50 marks are deducted for each wrong answer and in Tier 2, 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section 1, Section,-2 and Module I of Section 3 will be deducted. Therefore, candidates must be careful before selecting any option in the exam.

SSC CHSL Resolution of Tie Cases
In the case of a tie in scores of candidates who appeared in Tier-I and Tier-II examinations, merit will be decided by applying the following criteria, one after another, till the tie is resolved:
- Total marks of the Tier-II Examination.
- Total marks in Tier-I Examination.
- Date of birth, with the elder candidates, placed higher.
- Alphabetical order in which the first names of the candidates appear.
