WBPSC Food SI Selection Process 2024 Stages
For the post of WBPSC Food Sub Inspector, candidates are required to go through the following stages:
- Written Exam (100 Marks)
- Interview (20 Marks)
Mentioned above are the two stages that the candidates are required to go through. First, candidates will be called for the Written exam which is of 100 marks and is objective in nature. Those who qualify for the test will be called for the Interview round. At this stage, the personality of the candidates will be assessed through face-to-face interaction.

WBPSC Food SI Selection Process Stage 1 Written Exam: It consists of two subjects i.e., General Studies and Arithmetic. MCQ-type questions will be asked from the subjects mentioned. To be able to qualify for the Interview round, candidates need to clear the test. The details of the exam pattern, marks, and duration are mentioned below.
- There shall be 100 questions carrying 1 mark each.
- Negative marking is 1/3rd for each wrong answer marked by the candidate.
- The duration of the Exam is 1 hour 30 Mins.

WBPSC Food SI Selection Process Stage 2: Interview
WBPSC Food SI Selection Process Stage 2 Interview: Those who clear the WBPSC Food SI Written exam will be called for the Interview round. At this stage, their documents and personality will be assessed based on their interaction will the panelists. The total mark allocated to the interview stage is 20 marks. After the interview is conducted and marks are allotted based on candidates’ performance the results will be announced.
WBPSC Food SI Selection Process 2024: Merit List
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the written exam and interview. In case of candidates get the same marks, then there will be a tiebreaker process which means that if candidates secure the same marks, then their selection will be done on the basis of their age, which means that the older candidates will be given preference in the merit list.
