LIC or Life Insurance Corporation of India conducts examination on all India basis to select candidates for various posts like LIC Agents, LIC Officers, LIC AAO etc. in the prestigious insurance company. Having its headquarters in Mumbai, LIC is an Indian state owned insurance company with a great capital value.
Generally graduates from any discipline are eligible for the several posts offered by LIC but for clerical cadre one needs to have a valid class 12th passing certificate. The various positions for which LIC conducts examination are as follows:
IRDA Exam:
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Exam is conducted every year for the recruitment of LIC Agents all across the country. There is no particular date on which this exam is conducted. It depends totally on the LIC board to decide the date and venue of this exam. The minimum educational qualification needed for IRDA Exam is a valid certificate of Class 12th from a recognized board.
LIC DO:
Development Officer or DO is the person who performs the following duties:
- Recruitment of LIC insurance agents.
- Provide them training and other sessions.
- Meeting with customers through proper channels.
- Handle queries related to their team members (insurance agents)
- Provide service to customers if agent fails to provide it
- Processing of new policies and solve premium, and other issues.

The exam for the same is conducted every year in the month of September. The notification for the same will be released in July.
LIC AAO:
The Assistant Administrative Officer or the AAO are the people hired for the position of Chartered Accountants, Generalists, Company Secretary and Legal Advisors. A candidate is required to be of minimum 21 years of age and maximum of 30 years of age as and when applying for this exam. A minimum of Bachelor’s degree is required by candidates for applying to this post. LIC has not officially announced the dates for the commencement of LIC AAO 2017 exam. According to last year’s statistics it is expected to be conducted around mid-December.
NIACL:
New India Assurance Company Ltd or NIACL is yet another exam organized by LIC to hire candidates for the post of Assistant in various branches of this prestigious insurance company all across the country. The exam is conducted in three phases: Preliminary exam, mains exam and the interview process. NIACL 2017 exam has already conducted its mains exam on 23rd May, 2017. The notification for the same was released on 6th March 2017.
For now LIC has released application for recruiting Assistant and Assistant Managerfor LIC Housing Finance Limited.The Online Application has started from 24th August 2017. The Examination will be conducted tentatively on 10th October 2017 (for Assistant Manager) and 12th October 2017 (for Assistants). The complete detail of the exam is discussed below:
