List of Chief Justice in India (CJI): भारताचे सर्वोच्च न्यायालय 26 जानेवारी 1950 रोजी अस्तित्वात आले. 28 जानेवारी 1950 रोजी भारत सार्वभौम लोकशाही प्रजासत्ताक बनल्यानंतर दोन दिवसांनी सर्वोच्च न्यायालय अस्तित्वात आले. हे उद्घाटन संसदेच्या इमारतीतील चेंबर ऑफ प्रिन्सेसमध्ये झाले. घटनेमध्ये संघराज्यीय न्यायव्यवस्थेची तरतूद भाग V मधील प्रकरण IV मधील कलम 124 ते 147 दरम्यान करण्यात आलेली आहे. त्यांमध्ये सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाचे संघटन स्वातंत्र्य, अधिकारक्षेत्र अधिकार पद्धती इत्यादींबद्दलच्या तरतुदी आहेत. भारताच्या सर्वोच्च न्यायालयात मुख्य न्यायाधीश आणि भारताच्या राष्ट्रपतींनी नियुक्त केलेल्या 30 अन्य न्यायाधीशांचा समावेश आहे. अलीकडेच भारताचे 49 सरन्यायाधीश म्हणून न्या. उदय लळीत यांनी नियुक्ती करण्यात आली. आज या लेखात आपण 1950 ते 2022 पर्यंतच्या List of Chief Justice in India पाहणार आहे.
49th Chief Justice in India | भारताचे 49 सरन्यायाधीश
49th Chief Justice in India: भारतीय राज्यघटनेतील कलम 124 मधील उपकलम (2) नुसार प्राप्त अधिकारांचा वापर करत राष्ट्रपतींनी सर्वोच्च न्यायालयातील न्यायाधीश, न्यायमूर्ती उदय उमेश लळीत यांची भारताचे सरन्यायाधीश म्हणून नेमणूक केली आहे. न्यायमूर्ती उदय उमेश लळीत येत्या 27 ऑगस्ट 2022 रोजी भारताचे 49 वे सरन्यायाधीश म्हणून 26 ऑगस्ट 2022 रोजी पदभार स्वीकारला.
सोलापूर येथे 9 नोव्हेंबर 1957 रोजी जन्मलेल्या न्यायमूर्ती लळीत यांची जून 1983 मध्ये महाराष्ट्र तसेच गोवा बार काउन्सिलकडून ऍडव्होकेट म्हणून नोंदणी झाली. डिसेंबर, 1985 पर्यंत त्यांनी मुंबई उच्च न्यायालयात वकिली केली. त्यानंतर जानेवारी 1986 पासून त्यांनी दिल्लीमध्ये स्वतःची कायदेविषयक सेवा सुरु केली.
लळीत यांनी ऑक्टोबर 1986 पासून 1992 पर्यंत सोली जे.सोराबजी यांच्या कंपनीत काम केले. तसेच सोली जे.सोराबजी भारताचे अटर्नी जनरल असतानाच्या काळात त्यांची नेमणूक केंद्र सरकारच्या वकिलांच्या पॅनलवर झाली होती. वर्ष 1992 ते 2002 या काळात त्यांनी सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाचे अँड्व्होकेट ऑन रेकॉर्ड म्हणून काम केले आणि एप्रिल 2004 मध्ये सर्वोच्च न्यायालयातर्फे त्यांची ज्येष्ठ अँड्व्होकेट पदावर नेमणूक झाली. वनविषयक विवाद, वाहनांमुळे होणारे प्रदूषण, यमुना नदीतील प्रदूषण इत्यादी अनेक महत्त्वाच्या प्रकरणांमध्ये त्यांना अँमिकस क्युरी नेमण्यात आले होते. 2 जी प्रकरणाशी संबंधित सर्व खटल्यांच्या कामकाजामध्ये सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाच्या आदेशानुसार त्यांची केंद्रीय गुन्हे अन्वेषण विभागासाठीचे विशेष सरकारी वकील म्हणून नेमणूक करण्यात आली होती.
