- A candidate must be able to read, write and speak English and have.
- Passed Middle School Examination with Oriya as Language Subject.
- Passed Matriculation or equivalent examination with Hindi as a language subject.
- Class-VII or above in the final examination in Odisha from any school affiliated to CBSE or ICSE recognized by the Government of Odisha / Government of India.
- Passed an examination at Odisha in medium English school standard conducted by the Department of Schools and Public Education, Government of Odisha/Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.
- A candidate must be in good mental condition, physically fit, and free from any physical defect that would interfere with the performance of his duties in the service.
