The Economic Survey 2022-23 was released on 31st January 2023 by the Chief Economic Advisor of India, V Anantha Nageswaran. The government sees the Indian economy growing at 6.5 percent in the financial year 2023-24 (FY24).

- “This is the first budget in Amrit kaal, it hopes to build on the foundation laid by the previous budget and the blueprint drawn for India at 100,” Sitharaman said. Union Budget 2023 Income Tax in Odia
According to the new tax system, the income tax rebate maximum will rise from Rs.5 lakh to Rs.7 lakh, according to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She continued by saying that the new tax system will now be used by default. While a five percent tax will be levied on total income between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 6 lakh, 10 percent will be levied on Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh, 15 percent on Rs 9 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, 20 percent on Rs 12 lakh to Rs 15 lakh and 30 percent on Rs 15 lakh and above.

The government has allocated ₹1,12,898.97 crore to the Ministry of Education for the 2023-24 Financial Year. ₹44,094.62 crore is allocated for Higher Education Budget for 2023-24, a significant increase from ₹40828.35 in revised estimates of 2022-23. The Union Budget for 2023-24 was going to present by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 1 February 2023. Start-ups for agricultural and rural enterprises will be funded by NABARD. Union Budget Banking Sector in Odia
In the last five fiscal years, from 2016–17 to 2020–21, the government invested Rs 3,10,997 crore to recapitalize banks, of which Rs 34,997 crore came from budgetary allocation and Rs 2,76,000 crore via the issuing of recapitalization bonds to these banks. According to a Reuters report, the government could introduce revised slabs to make the optional tax regime more attractive. A final decision on the plan will be taken by the Prime Minister’s Office, it said citing top government sources.
