The Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) is a state-level examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board. It is held once a year to hire qualified candidates for the positions ofprimary and upper primary school teachers in government schools across the state.
Applications are invited for the Direct Recruitment for the post of GRADUATE TEACHERS / BLOCK RESOURCE TEACHER EDUCATORS (BRTE) in School Education and other departments included in the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu School Educational Subordinate Service for the year 2023- 2024 from the eligible Candidates of Tamil Nadu only through Online mode up to 5.00 pm. On 30.11.2023.
Eligibility
A. Age Limit (as on 01.07.2023):
As per the G.O (M.s) No.185, School Education (Budget-1) Department dated: 21.10.2023, the upper age limit (relating to Age Rule 5 of the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu School Educational Subordinate Service) fixed by the Government is as follows:
- The upper age limit for the candidates belonging to General Category for appointment by direct recruitment to this selection is 53 years of age as on the first day of July of the recruitment year viz:2023.
- Also the upper age limit for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class Muslims, Backward Classes, MBC/DNC and DW of all castes is 58 years of age as on the first day of July of the recruitment year viz:2023.
B. Educational Qualifications (As on the date of Notification):
No person shall be eligible for appointment to the post of GRADUATE TEACHERS/ BLOCK RESOURCE TEACHER EDUCATORS (BRTE), unless he/she possesses the minimum educational qualifications as follows:
- Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known); or
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.);
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard;
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.);
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4- year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.;
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed., (Special Education);
- Must have obtained a degree or its equivalent with such Subjects or Languages in respect of which recruitment is made; and Pass in Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) Paper – II with relevant optional subject for direct recruitment: Provided that the candidates possessing the educational qualifications prescribed in (i), (iv) and

(Special Education) qualification shall undergo after appointment at National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) recognized 6-month Special Programme in Elementary Education.
