The official exam session of the AILET 2025 has begun with the release of the AILET 2025 examination date. The AILET 2025 exam will be held in offline mode for two hours (120 minutes). Apart from the NLU Delhi, AILET exam scores are used by more than 200 colleges for admission into their law programs. The AILET 2025 admission process begins with the issuance of the notification and ends with the seat allocation process.
AILET 2025 Exam Date
The National Law University (NLU) Delhi holds the prestigious Law entrance exam AILET every year once to admit aspiring candidates to its campus. The examination is one of the two major law exams for admission into an integrated 5-year law program, the other being CLAT. NLU Delhi on announced the AILET 2025 exam date earlier so that students have enough time to prepare in an efficient way.
The AILET 2025 exam will be held on December 8, 2024, from 2 PM to 4 PM. Candidates who are aspiring for the AILET 2025 exam must note that date and plan their preparation according to it. Although the NLU Delhi has issued the date of conduction of the AILET exam paper, the institute has sought feedback from the participating colleges about the feasibility of the date. In case there is any problem for the exam conduction on the prescribed exam date, NLU Delhi can revise the official date.

The National Law University of Delhi (NLUD) administers the All India Legal Entrance Test (AILET), a national entrance exam, to candidates seeking admission to its undergraduate and graduate law programs. AILET 2025 Notification
The National Law University of Delhi has released the official notification containing the exam date and the registration start date. The notification was issued on May 27. It was a short notification aimed at alerting students about the exam process. The detailed official notification will come out a day or two before the registration begins on August 1. The AILET application form 2025 will be made available by NLU Delhi on August 01, 2024. After the release of the application form, the registration begins on the official website. Only online application submission is accepted for the AILET exam. The AILET exam, however, is conducted in offline mode. The steps involved in applying for AILET 2025 exam will include registration, completing a thorough application form, submitting supporting documentation, and paying an application fee, among other things.Candidates who want to take the AILET 2025 exam must complete the application form and meet the course-specific eligibility requirements before the deadline.
AILET 2025 Admission Process
The AILET 2025 exam admission process involves five major milestones. All these important steps of the AILET admission process is discussed below.
The following procedures are part of the NLU Delhi admissions process via the AILET exam:
Step 1: Registering Online
Applicants can register online at nludelhi.ac.in, the official website of NLU Delhi, where they must fill out an application with all the necessary information, upload the appropriate documents, and pay the application fees. The only way to submit the AILET application form 2025 is online. The AILET 2025 application form will be made available on August 1, 2024.
Step 2: Admit Card Download for AILET Exam
Admit cards are sent by NLU Delhi to applicants who successfully register for the exam. On the day of the exam, candidates must have their AILET 2025 hall ticket. It is not permitted for any candidate to show up for the exam while carrying the admit card.
Step 3: AILET Exam
Applicants must show up for the exam at the location designated on their admit card, which is also known as the exam center. At least one hour prior to the exam, candidates must show up at the exam locations. December 8, 2024 is the date of the AILET 2025 exam.
Step 4: Result Declaration
A month after the exam is administered, NLU Delhi typically releases the AILET results. Candidates who pass the exam have their All India Ranks (AIRs), sectional scores, and overall scores listed on their scorecards.
Step 5: Counseling
Based on the rank list that was made public at the time of the results, the university provides AILET counseling. Qualifying candidates are given seats in their respective law degrees at the counselling session, which is determined by merit.

Who is Eligible for AILET 2025?
Candidates who are going to take the exam must fulfill the AILET 2025 Eligibility Criteria. The following are the eligibility requirements for AILET 2025:

AILET Eligibility Criteria for BA LLB Program
The AILET exam eligibility requirements for the 5-year integrated law program is given below.
- If you fall under the General category, you have to have passed the test and received at least 45% of the possible marks in your Class XII or equivalent.
- You need to receive at least 40% of the possible marks in your Higher Secondary test if you belong to the SC, ST, or Persons with Disabilities group.
- Foreign nationals must have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (also known as the 10+2) with at least 65% of the possible marks, or a comparable exam.
- You can still apply and take the test even if you’re waiting on your Class XII results.
- There is no upper age bar to apply for the exam
AILET Eligibility Requirements for LLM Course
- An applicant must have earned an LL.B. or an equivalent degree from an accredited university with at least 50% of the possible marks (45% for SC/ST/Persons with Disability category) in order to be eligible to apply for the LL.M. Program.
- Candidates waiting for their LLB result are also eligible for the exam.
- There is no upper age limit criteria for AILET exam.
AILET Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria for PhD program
- To apply for the PhD program, applicants must have completed their LLM program from a recognized educational institution.
- Applicants in their final year of LLM are also eligible to apply
- There is no upper age limit applicable for this course

Only a limited number of seats are available at NLU Delhi for the BA LLB(Hons), LLM and PhD courses. There are 123 seats available for the BA LLB program and 81 seats for the LLM program. The course-wise seat matrix is given below.

AILET 2025 Exam Syllabus
NLU has prescribed a standard syllabus for the preparation of the AILET 2025 exam. Candidates must only study from the topics mentioned in the standard syllabus. AILET Exam Pattern 2025
Previously, National Law University, Delhi altered the AILET Exam Pattern for the BA LLB course. As a result, you can fairly estimate the quantity of questions from each section, the marking system, and the degree of exam difficulty by familiarizing yourself with the paper pattern. There will only be three sections on the question paper because the exam format is anticipated to be similar to that of the previous year.
The three sections include Current Events and General Knowledge, English Language, and Logical Reasoning. There will be a total of 150 questions in the exam. The time limit for the exam will be 120 minutes, i.e., 2 hours. Candidates will get 1 mark for every correct answer while -0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
