AP Inter First Year Exam 2026 Cancelled, Check New Changes by BIEAP

As per the latest news coming from the Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, the AP Inter First Year Exam 2026 will be discontinued. The AP Intermediate Exams will undergo considerable modifications in the next academic year 2025-26. BIEAP has announced many big changes related to the board exams which include NCERT-based syllabus adoption, new exam reforms, and changes in internal assessments.

AP Inter First Year Exam 2026 Cancelled

In a recent landmark step, the Andhra Pradesh Education Board has decided to end the AP Inter first-year exam 2025-26. According to Kritika Shukla, Secretary of the Board of Intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP), the board will only focus on AP Inter 2nd year exams to decrease the academic burden on the school students. They also declared that Stakeholders, including students and parents, can submit feedback on this exam cancellation decision until January 26, 2025.

BIEAP 1st Year Inter Exam New Modifications

The Andhra Pradesh Education Department has announced more than one modification to the intermediate education system. This resulted in a dramatic shift in the class 11 curriculum, assessments, and examination systems for the 2025-26 academic year.

AP Inter Class 11 Exam 205-26 New Syllabus

Beginning with the 2025-26 academic year, the 1st year Intermediate curriculum will follow the NCERT-based (National Council of Educational Research and Training) syllabus. This transformation will help students to align their state board studies with national-level entrance exam norms. Furthermore, BIEAP also intends to update class 11 textbooks and syllabi that have been untouched for several years. This modification will ensure that they match current academic and national level competitive test criteria.

AP Inter First Year Exam 2025-26 Reforms Subject Wise

The education board will make changes to the maths, biology and other language exams to raise educational standards and better prepare pupils for competitive assessments.

What are the Changes in Class 11th Mathematics?

• The current maths syllabus is deemed more comprehensive than NCERT norms. The proposed adjustments aim to compress content.
• They may combine two papers into a single unified examination.

What are the Changes in Class 11 Biology?

To conform with NCERT’s framework, the board is considering combining Botany and Zoology into a single Biology course for BiPC students.

What are the Changes in Language and elective subjects?

Students will be able to choose from a variety of language subjects as part of their curriculum, including Telugu, Sanskrit, and Urdu.

Changes in AP First-Year Internal Assessment

• The inclusion of internal practical marks across all topics in class 11 represents a significant change in the evaluation process.
• Each course will now include 20 points for internal assessments, focusing on continuous evaluation rather than relying solely on final exams.
