Is CBSE Board Exam Twice a Year 2024: says MoE

Centre stated on Wednesday with the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) implementation of the updated curriculum framework, that board exams will henceforth be held twice a year.

CBSE Board Exam Twice a Year 2024

According to the Ministry of Education’s new curriculum framework board exams will be held twice a year, with students having the option of keeping their top score, and class 11 and 12 students will be required to study two languages instead of one. This move by the central government is in accordance with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to reduce the pressure on students and help in their holistic development.

Is Board Exam Twice a Year 2024

The Education Ministry has announced that board exams will be offered twice a year to provide students with both “time and opportunity.” He also stated that people can accept it when they are ready. This will allow students to sit for exams twice a year, giving them the opportunity to improve their grades will not be term-based exams. Two different board tests will be administered, and students will be permitted to keep the higher of the two results.

According to the existing board system, with only one exam every year, students do not have the opportunity to take it when they are ready, nor do they get a second chance to pass it if they fail the first time. Concerning existing board exam problems, the NCF claims that they primarily focus on students’ “ability to reproduce learned facts,” which is not what tests are intended for. CBSE Board exams will henceforth be held twice a year, rather than once a year as previously. This substantial shift brings a new method to student evaluation and learning. CBSE is undertaking this adjustment to support overall student development and provide better opportunities for academic accomplishment, according to the organization.

2 Times Board Exam 2024: New Curriculum Framework Objectives

The National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 is based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 vision and strives to facilitate its implementation. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, revealed that the new curriculum framework (NCF) as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is complete, and textbooks will be published for the 2024 academic session. The following are some of the NCF 2023’s main goals:

  • According to the NCF, board exams would be held twice a year, and students will be able to keep the top result.
  • Allowing students in 11th and 12th grades to choose their own streams.
  • In classes 11 and 12, students must learn two languages, one of which must be an Indian language.
  • Creating new textbooks for the 2024 academic year. NCERT stated in the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for School Education, 2023, that this will be feasible by developing a “comprehensive test item bank” that can be utilized to design exams using appropriate software. This will facilitate the transition to an on-demand examination system, as envisioned in the NEP, in the near future.

Will there be 2 board exams in 2024: Two languages compulsory in Class 11 &12

The National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 is a large educational framework based on the ideals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. According to MoE rules, Class 11 and 12 students will now be required to study two languages, one of which must be an Indian language. Subject options will not be limited to streams, and students will have more freedom to choose.
