CBSE Class 10 Passing Marks 2025

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has established clear requirements for Class 10 and 12 pupils, including subject-specific minimum scores and grading standards.

To pass a subject that includes both theoretical and practical exams, students must get 33% in theory, practical, and overall. Class 10 criteria are as follows:

• A minimum of 33% for each subject.
• Internal evaluation subjects are assessed on a five-point scale (A-E).
• There are no overall divisions, honors, or aggregate scores awarded. However, if a student fails up to two topics, they may sit the compartment test.

CBSE Class 10 Passing Marks for Theory Exams

CBSE Class 10th Passing Marks for Practical Exams

The practical exam carries a total of 20 marks. Out of these 20 marks, the student who receives at least 6 will be considered to have passed the practical exam. Every candidate who receives 33% or more on the CBSE Board Exam practical exam will be considered to have passed.

CBSE 10th Passing Marks in Total (Theory + Practical)

The CBSE Board Exam includes 100 marks, 80 of which are for the theory paper and 20 for the practical. A student would be considered to have passed the CBSE Board Exam if he or she received 33% marks in theory and 33% marks in practical, for a total of 33%. CBSE Class 10 Grading System
