“As per provisions of Examination Bye-Laws/Scheme of Studies of the Board, the Practical Examinations/Project/Internal Assessment for the session 2024-25 are scheduled from 1 January 2025 for all affiliated schools in India and abroad. However, the winter bound schools are expected to remain closed during January due to the winter season. Accordingly, the Practical Examinations/Project/Internal Assessment for the session 2024-25 for classes X and XII for winter-bound schools will be conducted from 5 November 2024 (Tuesday) to 5 December 2024 (Thursday).”

CBSE Practical Exam Date 2025 SOPs

Along with the CBSE practical exam date 2025 for 10th and 12th class, the CBSE has also released the detailed SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures). The CBSE has issued SOPs and guidelines for schools to adhere to during practical exams for the academic year 2025. The guidelines address different areas such as uploading marks, appointing external examiners, and handling unfair means and answer books for practical exams.

CBSE Practical Exam Date 2024: Instructions for Schools

To make sure that Class 10, 12 CBSE practical exams are finished on time, the Board has provided guidelines for schools in the winter session. Educational institutions must:

Finalize Candidate Lists: Compile a last candidate roster and verify that only students listed in the online List of Candidates (LOC) are permitted to take part in practical exams, projects, or internal assessments.

Appointment of External Examiner: Contact the regional office to schedule the appointment of external examiners and observers for examination.

Timely Dispatch of Answer Books: Make sure that answer books for practical exams are finished and sent to regional offices promptly.

CBSE Practical Exam Date 2025 Class 10, 12 Important Guidelines

Some of the important guidelines provided by the CBSE in regard to the CBSE practical exam date 2025 is shared below.

• The practical exams, projects, and internal assessments will adhere to the provided SOPS and guidelines during their conduction.
• Winter schools will have their practical exams, projects, and internal assessments held between November 5 and December 5, 2024.
• The scores need to be uploaded starting from the beginning of the practical exams and must be finished by the end of the exams.
• When marks are uploaded, the school principal, an internal examiner, and the external examiner need to make sure there are no errors and that the right marks are uploaded. There will be no opportunities for corrections in the future.
• Schools must organize exams in either two or three sessions, based on the available lab infrastructure.
• It is necessary to report any students caught cheating or trying to contact examiners to influence them.
• If schools don’t follow the rules and regulations, the board can cancel the exams.
• Staff must be paid for their work during the exam using only integrated payment systems.
• The scores achieved will remain confidential at all times.

CBSE Practical Exam Date Sheet 2025: Rescheduling of Exam for Absent Students

Every student must attend the Practical Examination/Project Assessment at the designated time only. The student’s Practical Examination/Project Assessment can be rescheduled only on the notified dates if they are unable to attend for any reason. The Board will not consider any requests for special permission outside of the designated schedule.

If the student is not present for the Practical Examination/Project/Internal Assessment, they will be marked as “Absent” in the online system. When a student misses an exam for any reason and has their Practical Examination/Project Assessment scheduled for a different day, they will be labeled as “Re-scheduled” instead of “Absent”. The Practical Examination/Project Assessment can be retaken by students labelled as “Re-scheduled” only during the specified schedule.

CBSE Practical Exam Date 2025: Can Board Cancel the Exam

It is necessary for schools to follow the timetable and accurately submit grades because any modifications to the schedule or grades after submission will not be permitted. If the schools do not follow the Board’s directions, the Board may cancel the Practical examination. It is required that the practical exam be administered exclusively by the examiners appointed by the Board. If the practical exam is administered by an examiner who was not appointed by the Board, it will be called off.

It is important to note that the CBSE class 10 and class 12 practical examinations will be held in their own schools in the presence of external examiner and their subject teacher. CBSE clarified that these guidelines are only for schools that are operating in winter regions or winter-bound schools and do not relate to schools operating on a regular schedule. Those institutions will receive a notification individually.
