Delhi Nursery Admission 2025-26
The DoE authority has announced the complete schedule for nursery admissions for private schools with open seats other than EWS/DG/CWSN category students. According to the Delhi Nursery Admission 2025-26 Dates, the admissions process will commence on November 28, 2024, with the release of application forms. Parents must submit the application form on behalf of their children before the deadline. On the basis of the selection criteria, the first selection list will be announced on January 17, 2025.

Delhi Nursery Admissions 2025-26: Eligibility
According to the press release, “In order to conduct the admission process smoothly at the Entry Level Classes (below six years of age) in Private Unaided Recognized Schools of Delhi the following admission schedule along with instructions is issued for conducting admissions for the Open Seats (other than EWS/DG/CWSN Category seats) for the academic session 2025-26”. - The minimum age for entry is three years for nursery, four years for kindergarten, and five years for class one, as of March 31, 2025.
- Admission is limited to children under the age of four in the nursery, five in KG, and six in Class One.
- Age relaxation for admission of up to 30 days may be provided at the level of the head of school in the minimum and higher age restrictions.
How to apply for Delhi Nursery Admission 2025-26?
For parents enrolling their children in entry-level classes, the admission application form is available for purchase at the school or online. The specifications of the application submission process will be made available in due course. The non-refundable fee for Delhi Nursery Admission 2024 registration is Rs 25/-. The Fees must be submitted along with the application form submission time.
Document required as Proof of Residence
Following is the list of documentation that can be used as verification of parents’ or children’s residence:
- A ration card or smart card issued in the name of the parents (mother or father having the child’s name).
- Aadhaar/UID card issued in the name of one of the parents.
- Domicile certificate for the child or his/her parents.
- Any parent’s voter identification card (EPIC).
- Bills for electricity, MTNL telephone, and water
Delhi Nursery Admission 2025–26: Lottery System for EWS/DG/CWSN
The department will hold a computerized lot draw to admit EWS/DG/CWSN category students to all private unaided recognized schools and freeship category students to all private unaided recognized schools operating on government-allocated land, subject to Directorate of Education regulations. If there is a tie among applicants, a drawing of lots will be undertaken. The lottery will be conducted either through a computerized method or by drawing slips in front of parents. The draw will be captured on video, and the tape will be preserved by the institution
What happens next for Delhi Nursery Admission 2025-26?
Following the conclusion of the admissions process, Deputy Directors of Education (Distt.) are required to gather the school-specific information about open seats under the General Category in format-2 and send it to this branch by March 15 to make the school-specific information about open seats publicly available and help the schools fill the vacancies,” according to the department’s notification.
