The NTA has specified a specific format for different documents to be uploaded in the NEET online portal. For example, the document format for the photograph is either JPG or JPEG. Signature Uploading Guidelines
Candidates must follow the guidelines prescribed by the NTA while uploading the signature in NEET UG counselling form 2024. Following these procedures will help you upload signatures on the NEET 2024 counselling portal without any error:
- The recommended file size for the scanned signature is 4–30 KB.
- Only JPG should be used as the file format.
- Use a black ballpoint pen to sign the document on white paper.
- Instead of signing the name in all capital letters, use running letters.
- The candidature will be canceled and the case will be deemed an Unfair Means Case if another person’s signature has been uploaded. Criminal proceedings under the applicable legislation will also be started.
Guidelines for Uploading Photographs for NEET UG Counselling 2024
Candidates must not only adhere to the document file format and size requirements, but also to the instructions provided by NTA about the uploading of their photo. The following are the rules that must be observed while uploading the photograph for the NEET counselling process:
- The age of the photo shouldn’t be any older than three months.
- Either a color or black-and-white image with 80% of the face (without the mask) visible, including the ears, should be taken against a white backdrop.
- The scanned passport photo should be between 10 and 200 KB in size in order to be well readable.
- The scanned Postcard photo (4″ x 6″) should have a file size of between 10 KB and 200 KB (obviously readable).
- JPG or JPEG should be the file format.

Instructions for Uploading Thumb Impression in NEET UG Counselling 2024
The NTA has released the detailed instruction for uploading the thumb impression of both hands in the NEET counselling form. The following are the guidelines for uploading the thumb impression from the left hand:
- The applicant must use the provided template to record their left and right hand fingers and thumb impressions.
- There should be clear legibility in the thumb impressions.
- The file must be between 10 and 200 KB in size.
- Unclear impressions of the thumb and fingers on the left and right hands on online application forms will also be disqualified.
Category Certificates Documents Required for NEET Counselling 2024
Applicants must upload the necessary category certificate (caste, disability or economic) if they fall under one of the reserved categories or a specific category. Below is a list of the relevant certificates:
- GEN-EWS certificate, which in accordance with the most recent standards from the Government of India, need to have been given on or after April 1, 2022.
- OBC-NCL certificate, which in accordance with the most recent rules from the Government of India, ought to have been given on or after April 1, 2022.

Citizenship Documents Required for NEET UG Counselling Form
The following documents must be uploaded for candidates whose nationality is Foreign, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), or Non-Resident Indian (NRI):
scanned copies of the first and last pages of the passport, on which the candidate’s citizenship and nationality are stated together with the passport’s issue date, validity period, location, and issuing authority.

The Candidate’s citizenship and nationality, as well as the date, place, validity period, and issuing authority, are all explicitly stated on the Citizenship Certificate, which was issued by the competent authority in the Candidate’s country of nationality.
OR
Any other document that has been issued by a government agency in the candidate’s home country and that clearly states the candidate’s citizenship or nationality, as well as the date, place, validity period, and issuing authority (such as an OCI card issued by the MHA or concerned Indian diplomatic mission in the case of an OCT candidate only).
