Tie Breaking Policy used in DU Seat Allocation
DU also holds tie-breaker rounds for candidates who received the same scores in the CUET admission exam. If there are numerous candidates with the same CUET UG merit score for a specific program and college combination, the following policies will be taken in the sequence listed below to break the tie:
1. The candidate with a higher percentage of aggregate marks in the Best 3 subjects of Class XII will be given preference.
2. The candidate with a higher percentage of aggregate marks in the Best 4 subjects of Class XII will be given preference.
3. The candidates with a higher percentage of aggregate marks in the Best 5 subjects of Class XII will be given preference.
4. Age of the candidate; preference will be given to the candidate having an earlier date of birth (as mentioned in the Class X certificate).
5. Alphabetical ordering of the names of the candidates.
DU CSAS Merit List: Reservation Criteria
While preparing the Merit lists the Reservation policy will also be taken into consideration, This year, since the National Testing Agency had released raw scores instead of normalized scores, the University applied the following tie-breaking rules, in the order stated below, in the event where two or more candidates have the same CUET(UG)-2024 merit score for a Program + College combination. The following reservation specifications shall apply to admissions to Delhi University undergraduate courses.
- 22.5% of the total seats are reserved for SC/ST students (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST).
- 27% of seats have been allocated for OBC candidates.
- 10% of seats are allotted for candidates from the EWS group.
- In Minority Colleges, 50% of the seats are reserved for minority candidates.
- Admissions to ECA and Sports supernumerary seats will be based on a 25% weightage of CUET scores and 75% on certificates, trials, and performances.
