The oldest and First school in India is St George’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai. This school was established in 1715 as the Military Male Orphan Asylum. Ancient India was evidence of the many World-class universities, such as Takshila and Nalanda educators from all over the world who came to gain knowledge. Unfortunately, the destruction of institutions by invading Muslims and Huns damaged the ecosystem. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Britishers mangled and destroyed what was left. During the British Raj, the Indian cultural education system suffered a blow, although several magnificent schools teaching modern instruction were also built.

2nd Oldest school in India

The Bishop Heber Higher Secondary School is the country’s second oldest school, located in the state of Tamil Nadu. In 1762, the first German missionary founded this school with the help of the Society for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge (S.P.C.K). This school was once known as the Heber Memorial School. Later in the 1920s, the institution was renamed Bishop Heber College.
