As IITs and NITs are the top educational institutions in the country, every aspirant wants to know about the number of seats offered by these colleges for different courses. This year in 2024, the IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test) will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. The examination will be conducted on February 11, 2024, at various examination centers across India. Candidates who have either completed their undergraduate degree or are in the final year of their undergraduate program are eligible to apply for this exam. Being a highly competitive exam, students must rank high in the exam to get a seat. How much rank one should get depends on the number of seats available for that particular subject. For this reason, we have provided students with the seat matrix for the IIT JAM 2024.
IIT JAM Seat Matrix 2024
The IIT JAM seat matrix will help students get to know about the seats available for different courses in various categories in the prestigious colleges like IITs. At IITs and NITs, the number of seats available for each course varies. Prior to studying for the test, candidates ought to confirm the number of seats available for every subject. Compared to courses with a limited number of seats, those with a bigger number of available seats indicate a more competitive scenario. There was a around 2802 seats available in postgraduate programs across 21 IITs for the 2023–24 academic year. The number of seats across the IITs is expected to increase this year.
Apart from this, through the Centralized Counselling for MSc/MSc (Tech.) Admission (CCMN), the scores from JAM 2024 will be used for admission to more than 2000 seats in postgraduate programs, including MSc and MA, at universities including IISc, many NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, and DIAT. If candidates meet the minimum educational requirements (MEQs) and eligibility requirements (ERs), in addition to any additional requirements, they will be admitted based on their JAM 2024 scores. There won’t be any more written exams or interviews.
