In order to normalise these aspects in the various school boards across the nation and pave the way for consistency, quality, and uniformity in the teaching-learning and assessment practises, Professor Bhaduri added, it will be extremely helpful for them to have an understanding of international practises in the syllabus and assessment.
She also stated that NCERT is excited to collaborate with ETS and utilise their knowledge in educational research in learning evaluations. She further stated that NCERT plans to capitalise on this expertise to improve all facets of school education in this nation.
Purpose of PARAKH
According to sources, the NCERT started PARAKH in order to eliminate differences in students’ test scores who had enrolled in various state boards across the nation. With the new regulator for all assessment-related knowledge and information, the Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH) programme seeks to harmonise with India’s National Education Policy 2020.
Amit Sevak, CEO of Educational Testing Service (ETS), however, stated that ETS is proud to partner with NCERT in establishing the future of learning via innovation and quality assessment to evaluate what matters most as India emerges as a global leader in education.
