JEE Main Question Paper 2025 January 29 Shift 2 Difficulty Level Section-wise
The section-wise difficulty level for the shift 2 JEE Main question paper 2025 January 29 is given below.
Physics: The Physics section was assessed as moderate to challenging, featuring some complex questions. It comprised both theoretical and application-oriented inquiries.
Chemistry: This section presented a well-rounded combination of inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry. The overall difficulty was moderate, making it less challenging than Physics but a bit more difficult than Mathematics.
Mathematics: Questions covered areas such as Algebra, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Trigonometry. Although the overall difficulty was moderate, some questions were lengthy, which made this section time-intensive.
Students’ Reaction on JEE Main question paper 2025 Shift 2 January 29
- The Physics exam was primarily formula-driven and relatively straightforward. It included 2 questions on Modern Physics, 1 on Current Electricity, 2-3 on Electrostatics, and 3 on Ray Optics (with 2 being manageable and 1 challenging). There was also an easy question related to logic gates. One of the Ray Optics questions involved two concave lenses with a refractive index of 1.5, where the object distance was r/2, and candidates needed to determine the image distance.
- Additionally, there were 2 questions on capacitors, 1 easy question on Electromagnetism, and 1 question on the Conservation of Momentum, which required candidates to calculate the ratio of angular momentum.
- In the JEE Main Physics paper for Shift 2 on January 29, 2025, there were no questions on Rotation or Fluid Mechanics, but there was 1 question on the Center of Mass related to collisions. Another question focused on Kinematics, involving relative motion with one object having linear acceleration and the other variable acceleration, asking when the two would meet after t=0. There was also 1 question on EM Waves.
- According to students, the JEE Main Physics paper for Shift 2 on January 29, 2025, featured more questions from the 12th-grade syllabus, including 4-5 statement-based questions. There was a graph-based question from Thermodynamics that involved adiabatic and isentropic processes, which was straightforward and formula-based. Additionally, there was a simple question on Error, where candidates needed to calculate the percentage error. Notably, there were no questions from the Wave Optics topic.
- Math was average in difficulty but time-consuming because of numerous calculations. 2 questions from 3D geometry and 2 questions from Vector, 3-4 questions from Conic Sections, 2 questions from Matrices and Determinants, 1 question about the centroid of a triangle, 2 questions from Straight Lines (one straightforward and one combined with another concept), 1 question from PnC (the letters of the word KANPUR needed to be arranged in lexicographical order to find the 440th ranked word), 1 question from Binomial Theorem (7^103 was presented, and candidates had to divide it by 23 to determine the remainder), and 1 question from Quadratic Equations that was intertwined with another area of Mathematics. 1 question from Trigonometry, 1 query from Complex Numbers combined with Matrices and Determinants.
- In Maths, there was 1 simple probability question about moving colored balls from one bag to another. One question combined probability, matrices, and an additional mathematical concept, requiring candidates to determine the variance for it.
- Chemistry was manageable and at a reasonable level. Students mentioned that only those who had completely studied NCERT for Chemistry could successfully tackle the Chemistry paper accurately, as it contained numerous theoretical statement-based questions. In certain questions, organic and physical chemistry were combined, making them lengthy to resolve. One question was related to Chemical Equilibrium, while there were no questions on ionic equilibrium.
- According to students, questions in Physical Chemistry were challenging. One question from Biomolecule asked candidates to identify the necessary amino acid. 1 question based on a statement from Salt Analysis that presented complex compounds and asked to identify the unpaired electron in the yellow-colored complex compound. One question from Electrochemistry required candidates to identify which element O2 gas would be produced from.
