JEE Mains Exam Pattern 2025 Revised- Check New Paper Format, Total Question and Marks

The National Testing Agency has revised the JEE Mains Exam Pattern 2025. The exam pattern of Section B of the JEE Mains 2025 exam has been reverted back to the pre-2021 format. Section B will now contain just five numeric questions for each subject, with candidates required to attempt all of them. Previously, section B had 10 questions out of which students had the flexibility to attempt any five questions.

Knowing the JEE Main exam pattern is essential for candidates taking the IIT JEE exam, being held in two sessions in January and April.  According to the JEE Mains exam pattern 2025, there will be 75 questions on the BTech test. There are thirty questions on physics, chemistry, and mathematics in the exam. Explore the JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025 paper-by-paper by reading this post.

JEE Main Revised Exam Pattern 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revealed a significant modification to the format of the Joint Entrance Examination, scheduled for JEE Main 2025. The NTA has chosen to go back to the pre-2021 format for Section B of the exam, moving away from the COVID-19 pandemic-related changes. Before, students had the option to select five out of ten numerical questions in Section B for each subject.

This elective structure was introduced to provide comfort during the pandemic, enabling candidates to adjust to the unique challenges presented by the extraordinary circumstances. But, beginning in 2025, the possibility will no longer be available in JEE Main. Section B will now contain just five numerical questions for each subject, and it is mandatory for candidates to try all of them. This signifies a return to the usual layout before the pandemic started.
