JoSAA Counselling 2024
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) releases a detailed notification regarding the JoSAA Counselling 2024. JOSAA counseling helps students gain admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other engineering institutes.
About 15 lakh JEE-2024 (Main) applicants are eligible to compete for approximately 42,000 seats in the NIT+ System. This year, JoSAA will perform five rounds of seat allocation Rounds. Candidates will be able to participate in the JoSAA Counselling only after they successfully register for the same.
What is JoSAA Counselling?
Joint Seat Allocation Authority, or JoSAA, is an organization that was established by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). It manages the shared seat distribution for admissions to around 118 institutions, including Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs), NITs, IIITs, and IITs. The objective is to decrease the number of open engineering seats across the country by streamlining the admissions process for these universities using a single platform.
The JoSAA counselling process guarantees a speedier, more transparent, effective, efficient, and more seamless admissions process. 38 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs), 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and JoSAA oversee the admissions process for all of these institutions. The candidates’ qualities and preferences for courses and universities will determine how seats are distributed during the seven rounds of JoSAA Counseling in 2024.
JoSAA 2024 Counselling Highlights
The JoSAA Counselling process is done by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. JoSAA Round 2 Seat Allotment Result 2024
The JoSAA Committee issued the round 2 seat allotment result on June 27. The cut off for the JoSAA 2nd round was released on June 28, 2024. Candidates who have been allotted seats will have to pay the seat acceptance fee by July 1, 2024. By July 2, 2024, candidates must respond to any queries. JoSAA Counselling 2024 Mock Allotment Round
Before the release of the 1st round allotment list result 2024, the JoSAA conducted two mock rounds to familiarize students with the seat allotment process. The JoSAA mock allotment round 1 result was issued on June 15 while the round 2 result was released on June 18, 2024. JoSAA Counselling Procedure 2024
The JoSAA counselling procedure involves different steps. Students must know each and every step otherwise mishaps can occur during the counselling phase. For this we have mentioned the all the steps involved in the counselling procedure of JoSAA.
Step 1: Registration Process for JoSAA
The JEE Main 2024 roll number and password must be entered into the JoSAA official portal by candidates in order to register. When registering for JEE Advanced, candidates must input their password in order to log in. Candidates must verify all information, including gender, nationality, state eligibility code, contact data, etc., after logging in. It will be necessary for candidates to verify every information. It is important for all applicants to remember that during JoSAA 2024 registration, no personal data will be changed other than contact details.
Step 2: Choice Filling (Courses and Institutes)
Following registration, candidates will need to indicate their selection for colleges and branches. The options for admission will be given based on the candidate’s qualifications. Candidates can pick “Arrange Filled Choices” to order the choices in the order that they want once they have been submitted.
Step 3: Locking the Choices
After completing their choices, candidates must lock their choices (selections they made) and print a copy of their choices for future use.
Step 4: Seat Allocation
Based on their rank, the programs and colleges they selected, and the number of available seats, candidates will be assigned seats. Students can select Freeze if they are happy with the curriculum and institution; if not, they can select Float or Slide.
Step 5: Document Verification
Students must get their documents validated in accordance with the timetable during this step. Verification of the documents will be done online. Students will only be permitted to report to the designated location for final admission following the verification of their documentation.
Step 6: Reporting to the Allocated Institute
The final step requires students to report to the designated institution to pay the outstanding balance and finish any remaining admissions-related paperwork.
Only those who meet the requirements for JEE Main and/or JEE Advanced will be able to take part in JoSAA 2024. Following each round, the JoSAA 2024 seat allocation outcome will be made available online. Seats will be distributed to candidates based on availability, merit, and personal preferences.
JoSAA Counselling Process 2024: Eligibility Criteria
The JEE Main or JEE Advanced 2024 qualifying exam must be taken in order for students to be eligible to take part in the JoSAA 2024 counselling process. In addition, candidates must meet other requirements in order to be considered for the procedure. What is JoSAA Top 20 percentile criterion?
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially demonstrated the category-specific top 20 percentile cut-off scores from a total of 500 marks for 2023 and 2024. The JoSAA top 20 percentile criterion is used to determine candidates’ eligibility for admission to IITs and the NIT+ scheme. To be considered for admission, students must score in the top 20% of their respective boards or qualify for the JEE Advanced examination.

JoSAA Seat Allotment Process 2024
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will make the JoSAA seat allocation results for rounds one through six available online. Using their JEE Main 2024 roll number and password, aspirants must log in to view the seat allocation result. Seat allocation for candidates will take into account their JEE Main/JEE Advanced merit, preferences, category, and seat availability. The selected candidates will need to pay the seat acceptance fee and download their provisional allotment letter.
The candidates will need to check their documents at the Reporting Center (RC) after paying the cost. Following the announcement of the JoSAA seat allotment results 2024 by the relevant authorities, the selected candidates will have the ability to choose from any of the following choices based on their preference:
Floating: Candidates will have to choose this option if they are willing to accept the seat that has been assigned to them but are also open to being upgraded and admitted to more prestigious institutions or courses.
Freezing: If candidates are happy with their assigned seat and do not want to take part in additional rounds of counseling, they must choose this option.
Sliding: Candidates who select this option will acknowledge their allocation and remain eligible for admission into a higher favored course offered by the same organization.

JoSAA 2024 Counselling Seat Acceptance Fees

Documents Required for JoSAA Counselling 2024
The list of all the documents needed for JoSAA 2024 Counseling is available for candidates to review. On the day and time designated for them, candidates must report to the reporting centers with all of the relevant documentation.
