Khelo India Youth Games 2023 Winner
The fifth edition of the premier competition under the Khelo India initiative of the Indian government ended on February 11, 2023. Maharashtra took home the most medals at the Khelo India Youth Games 2023, with 56 gold, 55 silver, and 50 bronze. The defending champions Haryana came in second with 41 gold medals, 32 silver medals, and 55 bronze medals.

At the Khelo India Youth Games 2023, Maharashtra took home the most medals at the Khelo India Youth Games 2023, with 56 gold, 55 silver, and 50 bronze. Among more than 5,000 athletes from the 36 states and Union Territories of India will compete for 1,936 medals—573 gold, 580 silver, and 783 bronze—in 27 sports at a total of 11 venues dispersed across eight cities in Madhya Pradesh and New Delhi. Intense competition is predicted as young athletes from across the nation prepare for one of the biggest sporting events in the nation.

Khelo India was held in which state – Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh is taking responsibility to host the Khelo India Youth Games 2023. Eight different locations in Madhya Pradesh and one in Delhi will host the Khelo India Youth games.
The Khelo India Youth Games will be held for a fifth time in 2023, and the official opening ceremony will take place on January 30, 2023, at the Tatya Tope Nagar Stadium in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The inaugural Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) took place in New Delhi in 2018. Due to COVID-19, the 2021 edition was postponed, and it was held in Haryana.

Khelo India Youth Games
The Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG), formerly known as the Khelo India School Games (KISG), are multidisciplinary grass-roots competitions held annually in India. Under-17-year-old students in high school and under-21-year-old college students are the two categories for the Khelo India Youth Games. To prepare them for the international sporting events, the top 1,000 youths will each receive an annual scholarship worth 5 lakhs over the course of eight years.
Khelo India School Games were launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 31, 2018, at an opening ceremony at Indira Gandhi Arena. As of the 2019 events, Khelo India School Games have been renamed to Khelo India Youth Games thanks to the involvement of the Indian Olympic Association.
The Khelo India Youth Games are set up similarly to a team championship, with each athlete or team’s medal haul being added to the total number of medals earned by their State or Union Territory. The State or UT with the most gold medals at the conclusion of the competition is crowned the winner.

Khelo India Youth Games Winners
Haryana won the most medals in the first edition of the Khelo India Youth Games 2018, then known as the Khelo India School Games, but Maharashtra won the KIYG title in both the 2019 and 2020 editions.
Haryana, the hosts of the Khelo India Youth Games 2021, reclaimed their title last year, winning 137 medals, including 52 gold, 39 silver, and 46 bronze. Maharashtra finished second with 125 medals, including 45 gold, 40 silver, and 40 bronze.
