The official dates for the RTE lottery results 2025-26 for Maharashtra RTE admission has been released. The Maharashtra RTE 25% lottery result 2025-26 will be issued on May 01, 2025 while the first merit list will be released on May 08, 2025. The authority will issue up to 4 waiting lists this year. The RTE admission through 4th waiting list will conclude on June 06, 2025.
The online admission procedure for RTE Maharashtra for the 2014-15 academic year includes a lottery system for school allocation, which is currently in a provisional stage. Maharashtra RTE Results 2025-26 Process
Every qualified candidate is taken into account for assignment to their chosen schools without any exceptions after allocation. Candidates who have applied to several institutions may be allocated to all their selections or fewer, based on the total number they applied to.
Candidates living within a 1km radius of the school are given priority during the allocation process, followed by those who reside within a 2-3km radius of the schools they applied to. After filling positions for candidates in the 1km radius, any leftover vacancies are allocated through a lottery for those living within the 2-3km radius.
How Maharashtra RTE Result 2025 are Announced?
The physical lottery process takes place in an auditorium, using a set of bowls that matches the highest number of applications submitted for any participating school
For example, if the school with the most applications has obtained 599, then three bowls will be used for the lottery selection. In the lottery drawing, a parent or participant will sequentially pick chits with numbers from each bowl, including the last digit, the second-to-last digit, and the third-to-last digit.
If no chit is selected for the third-to-last digit, a value of zero or null will be deemed applicable for that place. The selection processes for all the chits from the bowls occur consecutively and concurrently in the auditorium.

The notification issued by the Maharashtra School Education Department also states “For the year 2025-26 or the year 2025-26, Section 12 (C.1) of the Right of Children to Free and Intensive Education Act 2001, the RTE 21% state process is being conducted online for the children belonging to underprivileged sections i.e. schools, unaided schools, police working schools (unaided) and municipal schools”.
Eligibility Criteria For Maharashtra RTE 2025-26
Every student should fulfill the following eligibility requirements to be able to take admission through Maharashtra RTE Admission 2025-26.
- The applicant must be a resident of the state of Maharashtra.
- Children or pupils should be aged between 3 and 6 years.
- The applicant must come from a BPL, ST, SC, or financially disadvantaged family.
- The family income of beneficiaries must not surpass Rs. 1 lakh annually.
- Should possess all required documents without any amendments.
- Parents may only apply for their two children.
- Applicants may choose only those schools that fall under RTE and are located within their area.
Age Restriction: Parents submitting applications for their children or wards under RTE should ensure that the applicant’s age falls between 3 to 6 years.
