NTA Releases guidelines for NEET UG 2025 Apaar id & Aadhaar-based Authentication

The National Testing Agency is about to release the NEET UG 2025 Registration is expected to start in the first week of February 2025. Is apaar id mandatory for neet 2025? – This is the most common query that is circulating among the students. In a recant press release, NTA clarifying that an APAAR ID is not Mandatory for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 Registartions. 

In ealier NEET 2025 Important Notice on Jan 14, it advised applicants to update their Aadhar details and attach their APAAR ID. The reason behind the implementation of the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry or (APAAR) ID with the NEET UG 2025 is to improve transparency, efficiency, and security in examinations.

What is APAAR ID?

In the official notice, NTA coined this new term called Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry or in short, APAAR ID. This is a new initiative by GOI as a part of the ‘One Nation, One Student ID’ initiative inspired by the 2020 National Education Policy. APAAR seeks to streamline academic monitoring and document management for students across India while assuring secure digital storage of educational information.

Apaar ID Neet 2025 is No Longer Mandatory

All the medical aspirants are informed that the Apaar id is not compulsory for neet 2025. In its most recent notification, the National Testing Agency (NTA) stated that an APAAR ID is not mandatory to register for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test 2025 (NEET UG 2025). The notification prompted reports that the NTA had made the APAAR ID compulsory. The NTA explained in a notification issued on Friday, January 24, 2025, that the APAAR ID is not required for NEET UG registration.

The NTA clarified that candidates participating for the NEET UG test were merely “encouraged” to “upgrade their Aadhar credentials and integrate their APAAR ID.” However, It is clarified that APAAR ID is not compulsory for NEET UG 2025 Registration.

Apaar id for NEET 2025 Important Notice 

In the official announcement, the NTA requested candidates to use both their APAAR ID and Aadhaar-based authentication during the application and assessment process. The NTA has urged candidates to update their Aadhaar credentials with the information from their 10th-grade mark sheet or passing certificate.

“Updated credentials are strongly advised for ease of verification, and registration, and to improve the integrity of the test process. The NEET UG 2025 registration procedure will begin in due time. Candidates are urged to update their Aadhar credentials, preferably under their 10th-grade marksheet or passing certificate. Also, make sure your Aadhaar is linked to a legitimate mobile number for OTP-based authentication,” said the official notification.

Why new changes implemented in the NEET 2025 Registrations?

Keeping in mind the last year’s chaos questioning the security and sanctity of the exam, NTA is going to make significant changes to the registration and examination procedures for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET 2025. In order to improve transparency, efficiency, and security, the NTA will implement the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID with the NEET UG 2025  Registration process. This initiative will help to smoothen the process in various ways.

NEET UG 2025 Apaar ID Registration

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has directed that all applicants taking NEET-UG 2025, the national-level undergraduate medical entrance examination, obtain an APAAR. Using APAAR ID for face identification can reduce inaccuracies in candidate information and improve efficiency in operations such as exam attendance. The Union Ministry of Education has also ordered that the APAAR ID be linked with NEET-UG applications.

How to Obtain APAAR ID for NEET UG 2025

The Union Ministry of Education’s School Education Department provides the UDISE system for generating APAAR IDs. This process requires an 11-digit Permanent Education Number (PEN). The schools are responsible for granting APAAR IDs to students. Parents must provide a consent letter to the school, and if the candidate is a juvenile, a guardian must attend in person. NTA guidelines to the NEET UG 2025 Aspirants?

In the notice, the agency has issued some guidelines for the students before moving to create an APAAR ID and completing the document verification process. Below we have shared some crucial guidelines regarding the same.

Update Aadhaar Details: Make sure your Aadhaar information, especially your name and date of birth (which match your 10th-grade mark sheet), is correct. If there is/are any discrepancies in your details then corrections can be made at any nearby Aadhaar Enrolment or Update Centre.

Link mobile with Aadhaar: To employ OTP-based authentication throughout the application and assessment processes, candidates must link their Aadhaar with a valid cellphone number.

Facial Recognition: UIDAI’s introduction of Face Authentication allows for faster and more accurate identification verification, leading to a smoother exam experience.
