As per the earlier schedule, the NISER Bhubaneswar and UM DAE-CEBS released the NEST result 2024 today on Friday, July 12 at 4 PM on the official website. Candidates who appeared for the exam can access their NEST 2024 scorecard through candidate login.

Candidates can access their NEST 2024 result only through the official website. The step-wise process to download the result from the official site is mentioned below.

Step 1 : Visit the official website o the NEST 2024 exam at nestexam.in

Step 2 : On the home page, click on the ‘Download NEST Scorecard 2024’ link

Step 3 : You will be redirected to a new page where you will have to key in the examination roll number and password on the required field and enter ‘Login’ button

Step 4 : The NEST result 2024 cum scorecard will be shown to you on the screen

Step 5 : Download the scorecard and save it for future use

The NEST exam result 2024 scorecard is also known as the rank card as it mentions the rank of the candidate in the qualifying exam. The NEST rank card 2024 will contain many important details about the student. Take a look at some of the crucial information provided in the NEST 2024 rank card below.

NEST Merit List 2024

Starting in 2023, the merit list preparation for NEST 2024 (for both NISER and CEBS) will take into account the best three subject scores from four subjects in the SMAS score. In NEST 2022, the NISER merit list was prepared by taking into account the SMAS (Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score) of all four subjects. The key points taken into account while preparing the NEST merit list is given below.

• Overall cut-off or Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP)

NEST 2024 Merit List Preparation Rules

Candidates’ final rankings will be determined by their percentile scores from the top three section scores. The merit list will be prepared according to the following criteria.

• In a minimum of three subject areas, a candidate must receive a score higher than SMAS. At that point, we declare the applicant SMAS-qualified.
• The sum of a candidate’s three highest scores from the SMAS securing sections determines their overall score if they are SMAS-qualified.
• To receive a merit rank, a candidate must score at or above the overall Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP).
• The top two students’ scores in each area would be compared if the percentiles of two or more candidates equalize, or in the event of a tie. A higher score would result in a better rank for the student.
• In the event that a tie still exists, the students will be assigned the same provisional rank when the results are announced. The tie will be broken by comparing the class 12th marks at the time of admission and counseling.
• The younger student will receive a higher rank if the tie continues.

NEST Cut off 2024

The NEST Overall Cutoff are referred to as Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP) scores.

In addition to achieving the Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS), candidates must meet or exceed the MAP to obtain a merit rank.
(A) For NEST 2024, the MAP for general category candidates is set at the 95th percentile.
(B) For OBC candidates, the MAP for NEST 2024 is the 90th percentile.
(C) For SC/ST/Divyangjan candidates, the MAP for NEST 2024 is the 75th percentile.
Candidates scoring below the MAP will not be assigned a merit rank or considered eligible for admission, even if they achieve the SMAS in all sections.
