National Institute of Technology located in Tiruchirappalli, famously known as NIT Trichy or NITT, is one of the most renowned engineering institutions in India that continuously features among the top 10 technical colleges every year. NIT Trichy is famous for its BTech programs that is offered through the JEE Main ranks. Candidates clearing the NIT Trichy cutoff are allowed to take admission into the institute by submitting the required admission fee and documents.
NIT Trichy Cutoff
The NIT Trichy cutoff remains highest among all other NITs in India because it is considered as the best NIT. NIT Trichy cutoff depends on the JEE Main marks and rank. The NIT Trichy cut off is released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) on its official website, josaa.nic.in. Candidates from general category are required to get a rank below 1000 in JEE Main exam to get admission into popular courses like BTech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE).
NIT Trichy Cutoff JEE Mains
Unlike IITs, there is home state quota for admission into NITs. Students belonging to the state where the NIT college is located, gets Home State (HS) quota and a separate JEE Main cutoff is issued for them. The NIT Trichy JEE Mains cutoff Outside State (OS) student is much competitive than the home state students.
NIT Trichy B.Tech cutoffs are published on the JoSAA portal following each counselling round as Opening and closing ranks. Typically, JEE Main cutoffs are published in 6 rounds on the JoSAA website while the final two cutoffs are released for the extra seats on the CSAB portal.
NIT Trichy Cutoff 2024
In the NIT Trichy JEE Main cutoff 2024, the General AI category had closing ranks between 1224 and 24286 in the final round. B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the most challenging course to be admitted into at NIT Trichy – National Institute of Technology, out of all the available options. Reviewing the cutoff patterns from the past three years, the closing rank of B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering showed irregularity.
Within the OBC category, the top three most competitive branches for BTech were Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with closing ranks in the last round of JEE Main being significantly high compared to other specializations. If NIT Trichy applicants do not have a preferred course, they may have a better chance of getting into B.Tech. programs such as Production Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Civil Engineering. These specializations had the lowest cutoff ranks for OBC category students under the AI quota.
NIT Trichy Cutoff Percentile 2024
NIT Trichy’s BTech cutoff for 2024 was determined based on the JEE Main results after Round 5 seat allotment, with two more rounds of CSAB counselling. In the final cutoff of JEE Main, NIT Trichy observed a continuous decrease in closing ranks for the majority of BTech specializations when compared to the closing cutoffs of 2023 and 2022.
Having a final JEE Main ranking of 1224 in the last round, the B.Tech. program in Computer Science and Engineering was found to be the most difficult specialization to be admitted to at NIT Trichy. General category students in the AI quota had to score at least 1019 in Round 1 to qualify for the same course.
NIT Trichy Cutoff Percentile for General
The closing ranks for the General category students ranged from 5066 to 36104 in the last round for the HS quota.
